Illam Thedi Kalvi – Education at Door Steps, Country’s first and single largest post-
pandemic educational outreach program
Core objective of bridging the learning gaps of students from Classes 1-8
The project also aims to help those children who dropped out of school during the
pandemic
Children had totally been away from schools, teachers and friends, lessons during
COVID.
Children have a huge gap in learning the basic concepts, language and mathematical
skills
Children who had not even studied 1 standard have been directly moved to 3 rd
standard.
The child at a stretch have to learn letters, form sentences, read paragraphs which all
have to happen in a single time and that too with limited time frame. ( Applies to all
concepts in learning)

Children from various backgrounds find it really difficult to cope up with the learning
gap
Children really miss the fun of learning in groups and through various interactive
activities
Many children have lost primary care givers and who actively support them in
education due to COVID
Every class have a gap of three years lag which have to be addressed failing which
the foundational pillars will be at risk

Illam Thedi Kalvi encourages volunteers from next door steps who are qualified to be
with children during these tough times and help them cope up with the gaps in the
field of education.
Volunteers are friendly and easily bond with kids with warm up exercises and group
activities, can reach all students very fast.
Children were taught to learn basic language skills , basic mathematical skills , art
and craft activities and encourage learning through songs and stories.
Volunteers maintain a good rapport with teachers, parents , children and district
coordinators and effectively address the gap
