Introduction

• The Objective is to develop a user-friendly auctioning site where any kind of product can be

auctioned and provide value-added services to the bidders and the sellers. The online auction

system is a model where we participate in a bid for products and service. This auction is made

easier by using online software which can regulate processes involved. There are several different

auction methods or types and one of the most popular methods is English auction system.
Scope of project

• Online Bidding has become more wide spread in all sorts of industrial usage. It not

only includes the product or goods to be sold, it also has services which can be provided.

Due to their low cost this expansion made the system to grow. Online bidding has

become a standard method for procurement process. The “Online Auctioning System”

was successfully designed and is tested for accuracy and quality.

Objective
• In early 2020, many auctioneers were obliged to transition to online auctions because of
the limitations on large gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic. But, it was perhaps
the catalyst in a necessary shift to best serve all buyers and sellers. Live and online
auctions both have their advantages. Here’s a quick look at the benefits of choosing to go
online for your sale Because of conflicts, distance and individual item marketing, there is
a much larger audience willing to participate in an online auction. And those buyers are
different. People who only want one item, younger buyers, stay at home buyers, etc., are
more likely to bid online. Online auctions reach buyers from around the world. If you’re
worried about your stuff being given away, online auctions provide the reach to find the
right buyer for each and every item. Buyers can bid when and where they want and bid
on multiple auctions in the same day.
Research and technology

• The online auctioning system is a flexible solution for supporting lot- based online

auctions. The system has been designed to be highly-scalable and capable of supporting

large numbers of bidders in an active auction. To help business with finance’s and

purchases in online auctioning system.

Existing model

• From a recent study make by scientists at Carnegie Mellon University, found many fraud

schemes from the historical auction data using data mining techniques and other

accompliances. One of the most currently fraud schemes is that the bidders are masking

false identity or accounts in order to increase the sale price

Challenges faced by the existing model
1.Trust and transparency: Online bidding systems often face trust and transparency issues, as bidders may not know who they are bidding against or how the

system is being managed. This can lead to a lack of trust in the system and reduced participation.

2.Bidder diversity: Online bidding systems can face challenges when it comes to bidder diversity. For example, some bidders may have more experience or

resources than others, which can give them an advantage in the bidding process.

3.Scalability: As the number of bidders and auctions increases, online bidding systems can struggle to scale to meet the demand. This can lead to slower

response times, increased downtime, and other performance issues.

4.Fraud and security: Online bidding systems may be vulnerable to fraud and security risks, including identity theft, hacking, and data breaches. This can

damage the reputation of the system and lead to financial losses for both bidders and auctioneers.
Proposed System

• The development of this new system contains the following activities, which try to develop the

web-application entire process keeping in the view of database integration approach: One of the

most currently fraud schemes is that the bidders are masking false identity or accounts in order

to increase the sale price .Currently there are two approaches mostly being implemented such as

policy-based and reputation-based trust management , which also lag certain security issues.
SYSTEM SPECIFICATION
Hardware Requirements:

• The hardware requirements for the proposed system are as follows:

• Processor The system requires a modern processor capable of supporting the proposed hashing
algorithms, such as SHA-3, Blake2, and Argon2.
• Memory The system requires sufficient RAM to handle the complex mathematical computations
involved in hashing.
• Storage The system requires high-speed storage devices, such as solid-state drive, to ensure fast data
access and processing.
• Network The system requires a reliable and high-speed network connection to ensure fast and secure
data transmission between nodes
Software Requirements

• The software requirements for the proposed system are as follows:

• Operating System The system can run on any modern operating system that supports the
proposed hashing algorithms and network protocols, such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.

• Development Tools The system requires development tools such as code editors, compilers, and
debuggers to develop and test the system.

Module description

Admin module

•This module provides the complete information related to products for sale and the

buyers can bid for the products and can own them. All this has to be provided and

maintained by the admin because the complete auction process is to be kept under control

till the product sale gets confirmed.

Seller Module

•Sellers want a place where seller can sale their products at a higher price and get maximum
benefit out of that. This is the place where seller can display all his products and sell them.

Buyer Module
•The people always want different things to purchase but in the local market they can have local
products only. But in this application buyer can buy any product from any part of the world at a very
best competitive price and own the product.
Visiter module

• Visitor is nothing but all the people who visits this application online. They can know the
information of all the products, which are for sale under this application.

Security and Authentication

The security and authentication is as follows:

• Login as buyer or seller or administrator.

• Change password.

• Forgot Password.

• Registration for buyer / seller.

conclusion
• In conclusion, the online auction system project has been successfully developed, tested,
and deployed to provide an efficient and convenient platform for users to buy and sell
products. The system provides users with a user-friendly interface that allows them to
easily browse, bid, and purchase items from anywhere at any time. The system also
provides sellers with tools to manage their inventory, track their sales, and receive
payments securely. The project team implemented various security measures, including
SSL encryption, to ensure that users' information is protected from unauthorized access.
Overall, the online auction system project is a robust and reliable platform that meets the
needs of both buyers and sellers, and has the potential to revolutionize the e-commerce
industry.
Limitations of the system

The limitations of the system are:

• Only the permanent employees can access the system.

• System works in all platforms and its compatible environments.

• Advanced techniques are not used to check the authorization.
