 Solutions

Rooftop Solar Systems empower consumers with two distinct benefits: Savings on power costs and
contribution to the environment by going green. When it comes to the investment options in rooftop solar
systems, the most popular models are OPEX and CAPEX.
 OPEX Model

OPEX Model is a system where the developer owns the solar project.
• The consumer only pays for the energy generated.
• Rooftop installed under OPEX requires the consumer to enter into a long-term legally binding Power Purchase Agreement
(PPA) the supply of power.
• PPA can be signed from 15-25 years and the consumer is expected to pay a predetermined fixed tariff for the entire duration
of the PPA.
• Any excess electricity generated may be injected into the grid with a bi-directional meter.
• The developer will be the system’s owner for the entire duration of the PPA, thereafter the ownership will be taken over by
the consumer.
• The developer provides Operation & Maintenance for the entire duration of the PPA.
• The developer will insure the Solar Panel installation.
 CAPEX Model

CAPEX Model is a self-funding model where the consumer buys a Turn-Key Solar Project.
• The consumer must bear all the capital expenses incurred in stalling a rooftop system upfront.
• All Operation and Maintenance and expenses incurred is borne by the consumer. It also includes the cost of equipment, labor,
upgrades, and other material costs.
• CAPEX model will eventually be a cheaper model after repayment of debt, but it also requires investment.
• The consumer will have to bear all expenses for insurance.

Completion of Big Boss Corporation Ltd. :

We are pleased to share the completion of Big Boss Corporation Ltd. The rooftop installation
will produce 1,5 MW for the factory. Talks are already underway for additional capacity to be
added in the range of 1,0 – 1,5 MW.

This 1,5MW PV Solar Roof top installation at Big Boss Corporation Ltd. is one of the largest
Solar installations in the Ready-Made Garment Sector in Bangladesh and reduces Carbon
Emission by 1,950 ton per year. The 1,5 MW (DC) Solar PV project will tentatively deliver more
than 2 GWh of clean energy annually and will have significant benefit to the environment. The
following metrics help to quantify the equivalent offsets:

• Carbon Emission Reduction by 39,000 ton over 20-year period

• 11.346 gallons of gasoline consumed
• 437,467 tree seedlings grown for 10 years
• 61,467 barrels of oil consumed
• 800 vehicles off the road
 Projects
Completion of Ariyan Socks :

On the 18th of Februrary four trucks arrived at Ariyan Socks unloading solar panels.
Today, February 23rd, the installation is complete. The factory will get 200 KW solar
energy from the rooftop installation. As with every other company joining Eresi Solar,
the rooftop installation of solar energy will eliminate the daily power outages from the
national grid, where heavy polluting diesel and/or gas generators kick in instead. This
will all be avoided with the solar energy, meaning the factory will save a big amount of
money on diesel and/or gas and on the price of electricity simultaneously with saving the
planet. With the solar panels the factory will be a certified sustainable factory.
