What is HVAC?

Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

Purpose of HVAC:

The main purpose of HVAC is to provide the people working inside the building
with “CONDITIONED AIR” so that they will have a comfortable and safe work
environment.
What is Conditioning of Air?

“Conditioned Air” means that the air is clean and Odor-Free, and the
temperature, humidity and movement of air are within certain comfort range.

Comfort Zone: (ASHRAE recommendation)

 Temp : 22.7oC to 26.1oC

 Relative Humidity : 50%

What is a Building Management System (BMS)?

 A BMS is a computerized, ‘intelligent‘ network of devices that monitor

and control the mechanical & electrical systems in a building

 The intent is to create an intelligent building to reduce energy and

maintenance costs whilst maintaining the desired environment for the
occupants

What is a Building Management System (BMS)?

Building Management System , also known as Building Automation

System is used primarily for Centralized Control & Monitoring of
various services of the Building like Air-conditioning, Lighting, DG,
UPS, etc.

Few advantages of the BMS Systems are :

 Energy Conservation
 Optimization of Manpower
 Accuracy & precision
 Easy maintenance & trouble shooting
 Longer plant life
Why Do we need an Integrated
System ?

• Safe, Secure & Comfortable Environment.

• Single Point Monitoring and Control of all Utility
Systems
• Easy in Maintenance and Operation of the Building
• Energy Management
• Optimum utilization of the utilities in the Building.
• Disaster Management .
• Human Traffic Control and Tracking
