INTRODUCTION

• France, Official French Republic – country of northwest Europe. The largest rivers in France are
the Loire, Seine, Garonne, Durdonne. There are not many large lakes in France. French culture is
one of the oldest in Europe. Fashion and art have been very important here for a long time.
People like literature, theater.
• The first president of France in 1848 Louis Napoleon Bonaparte was elected.
• The current president of the French Republic is Emmanuel Macron. In 2022 May 7 he was
inaugurated for a second term.

EIFFEL TOWER

• The Eiffel Tower is the tallest tower in Europe. It’s height is over 300
metres. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose
company designed and built the tower. The tower was constructed
from 1887 to 1889, and finally was opened for tourists on the 31 st of
March in 1889.
ELYSIAN FIELDS (TRIUMPHAL ARCH)

• Elysian Fields is the most famous street in France. The


street was started to build in the 17 th century and is
still famous because of many restaurants, shops,
museums and art galleries.
LOUVRE MUSEUM

• Louvre museum is the most famous museum in the


world. The museum is world famous for one of the most
valuable art collections. About 8 million people visit the
Louvre every year. One of the most famous exhibits of
the Louvre is Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. In total,
the museum's collection consists of about 400 thousand
works of art.
CATHEDRAL NOTRE-DAME

• Bishop Maurice de Siuli in 1163 began to build the city


cathedral. The construction lasted almost 200 years (the
cathedral was completed in 1345). The main building materials
are stone and wood. At one time, it can be accommodate about
9 thousand people. About 15 million tourists visit the cathedral
every year.
• On 16/04/2019, a huge fire broke out in the cathedral, after
which the cathedral is still being rebuilt.
PALACE OF VERSAILLES

• The Palace of Versailles is the residence


of the kings of France. The palace was
built in 1623 to King Louis. At that time,
many people lived in the palace. The
palace housed between 3,000 and 10,000
residents, servants and visitors.
CONCLUSION

• As we can see, France is historically a very interesting country with many interesting places
to visit. Someday I will go there to visit these places and share my experiences with my
friends and family members.
