Jammu And Kashmir : People And Tribes​

Primarily, the Jammu region is populated by Hindus while the


Kashmir Valley is known for its high Muslim population. One can
also spot a little variety of Sikh presence here. Turning
to Leh and Ladakh, the region is famous for its monasteries and
hence, flaunts a variety of Buddhist population.​

Talking about the tribes in the region The present Jammu and
Kashmir region is inhabited by several enormous tribes like
the Dogras populating in the plains, the Pahadis of the
hills and the nomadic mountain-dwelling tribes of the Gujjars, etc.
These tribes of Jammu and Kashmir make up the
authentic and characteristic ethnic culture of this primeval state
and culture
Gujarat : People and Tribes​
The Gujarati people, or Gujaratis, are an Indo-Aryan e
thnolinguistic group who reside in or can trace their ancestry or
heritage to a region of the Indian subcontinent primarily
centered in the present-day western Indian state of Gujarat.
They primarily speak Gujarati, an Indo-Aryan language. While
Gujaratis mainly inhabit Gujarat, they have
a diaspora worldwide. Gujaratis in India and the diaspora are
prominent entrepreneurs and industrialists and maintain
high social capital.Many notable independence activists were
Gujarati, including Mahatma Gandhi and Vallabhbhai Patel.​

The population of Gujarat consists of many well known tribes


suchas Dhublas, Jats, Kutchis, Harijans, Naikda, Bhils, Macch-
Kharwa, Rabaris and Kolis.The culture and tradition of the
state is carried forward by these tribes and therefore it is still
surviving at a large scale
Handicrafts and Gujarat has an array of a rich variety of crafts.
Food of Gujarat​ Its embroidery, bead work, wood crafts, printed and woven
clothes, pottery and tribal art are expression of the folklore
and festivals. Their rich culture and heritage provides them
the finest techniques to perform these arts. the embroidered
sarees are the famous attires for the festivals of Navratri,
Diwali etc. These also generate equivalent amount
of employment in the state.

Talking about the food, it is mostly a vegetarian state which


is majorly dependant on crops like wheat, bajra, jowar etc.as
it receives a lower amount of rainfall bajra and jowar grow
well here that is coarse grains.​
Food and Handicrafts
in Jammu And Kashmir​ Kashmir is famous for its shawls whereas Jammu for the
walnut wood carving crafts. Both of these provide a large-
scale employment to the people of the state. Since post-
independence these arts have been taken up by majorly
the tribals. These activities in the state is also a reflection
of its culture and the weather over there. The geographical
conditions matter in the growth of several trees and
crops which on a large scale has been affecting the arts.

Talking about the food in the state. The people over there
majorly follow a mix diet of vegetarian and non-vegetarian
because of the food availability over there. Some famous
food items are Kashmiri pulao,rajma and dum aloo. They
eat meat,some rice,vegetable and Haakh-Batta (greens
and rice) which is equivalent to bread-butter.​
Kutchh festival (Gujarat)
The Kutch Festival, also known as the Rann Utsav, is a vibrant
celebration of the heritage of the Kutch region in the state of Gujarat.
This festival spans for about three months, starting in October or
November and lasting until February or March, coinciding with the
winter season when the white desert of Kutch is at its most
mesmerizing.

Traditional Performances: Visitors can witness a wide array of


cultural performances including folk dances, music concerts, and
traditional art forms performed by local artists.

Handicrafts: The festival showcases the exquisite handicrafts of


Kutch such as bandhani (tie and dye) textiles, embroidered fabrics,
traditional jewellery, woodwork, and pottery. Visitors have the
opportunity to buy these unique crafts directly from the artisans.

Camel Safaris: Tourists can enjoy camel safaris across the vast
expanse of the white desert, experiencing the surreal beauty of the
region.

Tulip Festival (Jammu and Kashmir)
The Tulip Festival in Srinagar is usually held at the Indira
Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, which is located at the
foothills of the Zabarwan Range in Srinagar, overlooking
the famous Dal Lake.

Tulip Display: The festival showcases a stunning array of


tulips in various colours and patterns. The garden is
meticulously landscaped to display these flowers in their
full glory.

Cultural Events: Cultural programs, traditional Kashmiri


music, dance performances, and other events are
organized to entertain the visitors.

Local Cuisine: Visitors can enjoy local Kashmiri cuisine

Boating: As the garden is located near Dal Lake, visitors
