The document discusses various renewable energy sources including solar energy generated from sunlight, wind energy captured through turbines, hydro energy from moving water, geothermal energy from heat within the Earth, biomass energy from organic matter, and tidal energy from ocean tides. It notes that renewable sources are sustainable and do not run out, in contrast with non-renewable fossil fuels. The future will rely more on renewable over non-renewable energy.

RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES
SCHOOL: VISOKA TEHNIČKA
ŠKOLA STRUKOVNIH STUDIJA ZVEČAN PROFESSOR:JOVANA VILIMONOVIĆ STUDENT:STEFAN BASARIĆ 39/21 A RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCE MEANS ENERGY THAT IS SUSTAINABLE - SOMETHING THAT CAN'T RUN OUT, OR IS ENDLESS. THE MOST POPULAR RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES CURRENTLY ARE:
• SOLAR ENERGY • WIND ENERGY • HYDRO ENERGY • TIDAL ENERGY • GEOTHERMAL ENERGY • BIOMASS ENERGY SOLAR ENERGY
Solar power is generated directly from sunlight (photons).
Solar thermal panels are filled with water which heats up in the sunlight. The heated water is then pumped through a tank heating the water that is connected to the taps in the house. SOLAR PANELS WIND ENERGY
• WIND POWER CAN BE CONVERTED INTO ELECTRICITY THROUGH TURBINES OR
WINDMILLS, ON A SMALLER SCALE. IT CAN BE USED TO PUMP WATER OR GENERATE ELECTRICITY. WIND TURBINES BIOMASS
• BIOMASS IS ANY ORGANIC MATTER THAT COMES FROM RECENTLY LIVING
PLANTS OR ANIMALS. THIS MATTER CAN BE CONVERTED INTO USEABLE POWER. THIS IS A GREAT FORM OF ENERGY BECAUSE IT IS A FORM OF RECYCLING. THE CYCLE OF BIOMASS ENERGY GEOTHERMAL ENERGY
• GEOTHERMAL ENERGY IS DERIVED
DIRECTLY FROM THE EARTH’S HEAT. THIS ENERGY CAN BE SOURCED CLOSE TO THE EARTH’S SURFACE, OR FROM THE HEATED ROCKS FAR BELOW US. THIS ENERGY SOURCE CAN BE USED TO HEAT AND COOL A BUILDING. HOW GEOTHERMAL ENERGY WORKS: GEOTHERMAL: THE UNDERGROUND RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCE THAT SAYS IT CAN POWER EUROPE HYDROELECTRIC
Water is another resource to producegreen-
energy. “Pumped-storage hydropower” is one way to harvest hydropower. In this system, water is stored in reservoirs with the use of dams. When released, the water flows through turbines to produce electricity. There is another type, called “run-of-river hydropower”. This system channels a part of the river flow through a channel and does not require a dam. HYDROPOW ER IS ENERGY IN MOVING WATER TIDAL ENERGY • TIDAL ENERGY IS PRODUCED BY THE SURGE OF OCEAN WAT ERS DURING THE RISE AND FALL OF TIDES. TIDAL ENERGY IS A RENEWABLE SOURCE OF ENERGY. USING A RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCE IS AN EXCELLENT WAY TO DO YOUR PART IN BETTERING THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE WORLD AROUND YOU. MANY ENERGY PROVIDER COMPANIES OFFER SEVERAL RENEWABLE OPTIONS TO POWER YOUR HOME. THE FUTURE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY • ENERGY IS ALWAYS A HOT TOPIC. THE PRICE OF OIL, ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, THE HEALTH OF THE ECONOMY AND OF POLITICAL AGENDAS. REGARDLESS OF THESE ISSUES, THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF ENERGY IN THE WORLD. RENEWABLE AND NON-RENEWABLE. WHETHER IT IS IN 10 YEARS OR 50 YEARS, THERE WILL EVENTUALLY BE NO FOSSIL FUELS TO RELY ON. OVERVIEW TEN SIMPLE THINGS YOU CAN DO TO HELP PROTECT THE EARTH: • REDUCE, REUSE, AND RECYCLE • VOLUNTEER • EDUCATE • CONSERVE WATER • CHOOSE SUSTAINABLE • SHOP WISELY. • USE LONG-LASTING LIGHT BULBS. • PLANT A TREE • DON'T SEND CHEMICALS INTO OUR WATERWAYS • BIKE MORE.
