MEASUREMENT IN SCIENCE
• In science, measurement is a collection of
qualitative or numerical data that describes
the property of an object or event.

• A measurement is made by comparing a

quantity with a standard unit.
MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
• INTERNATIONAL SYSTEM OF UNITS (SI)
- SI comes from the French name

system of measurements was common before
SI units were adopted internationally. This
system is based on the foot-pound-second
units for length, mass, and time.

GALVANOMETER
- is an electromechanical instrument
which is used for the detection of
electric currents through electric
circuits.

- being a sensitive instrument, it can

measure very small currents by
using galvanometer but the primary
purpose of it is the detection of
electric current not the
measurement of current.
