PUNJAB AND KPK
Kpk has reservations over the matter e.g.
CONFLICTS
i. Kpk feared that most of the stored water in kbd be
diverted to Punjab, however Punjab made a
promise not to do that
ii. Electricity produced will maximumly be supplied
to Punjab
iii. Large scale evacuation will result in the
displacement of people
iv. Large area of noshehra will be submerged and
would suffer from salinity and waterlogging

6
PUNJAB AND SINDH kbd has been strongly opposed by Sindh on following
CONFLICTS grounds
i. Water supply to Sindh will be reduced because of
irrigation demands of Punjab and kpk
ii. Coastal area of Sindh would turn into arid saline
desert which ultimately minimize coastal
mangroves and fish production
iii. Downstream flow of indus will be reduced to
cause the water shortage to the irrigated areas of
lower Sindh
iv. Reduce water supply to manchar and haleji lakes
