SHAKESPEARE’S HAMLET

 Set in Elsinore, Denmark


 The king was killed by his brother Claudius
 The king comes back as ghost and asks
his son Hamlet to kill Claudius
 Claudius is now married to Hamlet’s
mother

SUMMARY

 Claudius sends Hamlet to England. His plan is to get Hamlet


killed. This backfires.
 Laertes returns to court to find his father killed and his sister
insane.
 Ophelia drowns and Hamlet returns at the exact moment of
her burial.
 Claudius and Laertes devise a plan to kill Hamlet. This also
backfires.
 Horatio is left to alive to tell the tale.
