INFORMATION SYSTEM (MIS)
• The MIS is defined as a system which provides information support
for decision making in the organization. A collection of subsystems
and related programme parts or modules that are interconnected in a
manner which fulfils the information requirements necessary to
plan, organize, direct and control business activities.
• MIS is an Information System which is used to transform data into
useful information as needed to support management decision
making which is based on the predictable pattern of activities.

SYSTEM (DSS)
DSS manipulate and build upon the information from a MIS
and/or T PS to generate insights and new information.
EXECUTIVE INFORMATION
SYSTEM (AIS)
• ESS is management information systems tailored to meet the
strategic information needs of top managements/senior executives.
It summarizes and presents data at the highest levels of aggregation.
• The goal of computer based ESS is to provide top executives with
immediate and easy access to selective information
