INTRODUCTION :
• THE TERM “SKIN DISORDER” ARE USED INTERCHANGEABLY TO DESCRIBE
VARIOUS SKIN PROBLEMS,FROM SMALL RED BUMPS ON THE SKIN TO
UNDESPREAD RASHES, VIRUS, FUNGI, BACTERIA OR PARASITES CAN ALSO CAUSE
SKIN ISSUES TO DEVELOP . SOME SKIN PROBLEMS HAVE A GENETIC
COMPONENTS
DEFINITION :
• SKIN DISEASES ARE CONDITIONS THAT AFFECTS THE SKIN. THESE DISEASES
CAUSES RASHES, INFLAMMATION, ITCHNESS, OR OTHERS SKIN CHANGES. SOME
SKIN CONDITIONS MAY BE GENETICS , WHILE LIFESTYLE FACTORS MAY CAUSES
OTHERS.
CAUSES :
• BACTERIA TRAPPED IN SKIN PORES AND HAIRS FOLLICLE .(Eg-cellulitis)
• FUNGUS, PARASITES, OR MICRO-ORGANISM LIVING ON THE SKIN (Eg-ringworm and
pediculosis)
• VIRUSES – ( eg.chicken pox)
• A WEEKENED IMMUNE SYSTEM CONTACT WITH ALLERGENS, IRRITANTS, OR
ANOTHER PERSON’S INFECTED SKIN
• GENETIC FACTORS (eg.ectodermal dysplasias)

TYPES :
• ACNE - Acne is a common skin condition where the pores of your skin clog. Pore blockages
produce blackheads, whiteheads and other types of pimples
• ATOPIC DERMATITIES - Atopic dermatitis (eczema) is a condition that causes dry, itchy
and inflamed skin. It's common in young children but can occur at any age
• SHINGLES -Shingles (herpes zoster) is a viral infection that causes an outbreak of a painful
rash or blisters on the skin
• HIVES - Hives is a raised, itchy rash. It is not contagious and often stems from an allergic
reaction, infection, or chronic illness

• SUNBURN - Sunburn is inflamed, painful skin that feels hot to the touch. It often appears
within a few hours of being in the sun too long.
• CONTACT DERMATITIES - Contact dermatitis is an itchy, swollen rash caused by your
skin's reaction to an allergen or irritant in your environment
• ROSACEA - Rosacea is a long-term inflammatory skin condition that causes reddened skin
and a rash, usually on the nose and cheeks
• PEMPHIGUS - Pemphigus is a disease that causes blistering of the skin and the inside of
the mouth, nose, throat, eyes, and genitals
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
ABNORMALLY EXCESSIVE AND RAPID GROWTH OF THE EPIDURAL LAYER OF THE SKIN
