    Compressor

    A compressor is a mechanical device designed to increase the pressure of a gas by


    decreasing its volume. In simple terms, it takes in a low-pressure gas and compresses
    it to a higher pressure.

    Some Types of Compressor ?
    • Gas-Lift Compressors: In oil production, gas lift compressors are used to inject
    gas into the well to lift oil to the surface. This is done to enhance oil recovery
    from reservoirs where natural pressure has declined.

    • Gas Gathering Compressors: compressors are used to gather and compress


    natural gas from multiple wells before transportation through pipelines.

    • Reinjection Compressors: In enhanced oil recovery (EOR) processes,


    compressors may be used to re-inject natural gas or other gases into the reservoir
    to maintain pressure and improve the recovery of oil.

    Two-Phase Separator

    Inlet Device: This is where the well stream enters the separator. It often includes
    elements (Inlet Device Plate) to reduce the velocity of the incoming fluid, allowing
    for better separation.

    Gravity Settling Section: This section provides a space for the gas and liquid to
    separate due to the difference in their densities. The liquid phase, which is denser,
    tends to settle at the bottom, while the lighter gas phase rises to the top.
