MODERATE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Intensity activities are those that get you moving fast

enough or strenuously enough to burn off 3 to 6 times as
much energy per minute as you do when you are sitting
quietly or exercise that clock in at 3 to 6 metabolic
equivalents.
• Your breathing quickens, but you are not out of breath.
• You develop a light sweat after about 10 minutes of
activity.
• You can carry on a conversation, but you cannot sing.
VIGOROUS
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

VIGOROUS Intensity activities- These activities require

more oxygen consumption that light activities. Some
example of vigorous physical activity are running in
5mph, fast swimming and jumping rope.
HERE ARE SOME CLUES THAT YOU EXERCISE
INTENSITY IS AT A VIGOROUS LEVEL:
• Your breathing is deep and rapid.
• You develop a sweat after only a few minutes of
activity. You cannot say more than a few words
without pausing from breathing.
MET
MET is another term name for metabolic
equivalent; a measure of exercise intensity
based on oxygen consumption. More
specifically, a single MET is defined as the
amount of oxygen a person consumes (or the
energy expended) per unit of body weight
during 1 minute of rest.
MET
• Nowadays MET’s are commonplace on display
panels of treadmills, stair climbers and other
cardiovascular endurance, yet METs are often
ignored because exercisers simply do not know
what they are or how to use them. This is
unfortunate, because monitoring METs is a great
way for personal trainers to measure clients
fitness levels and see improvements in exercise
capacity.

CHESS
CHESS
Chess is played by two persons. This game
develops mental alertness and decisiveness to be
able to play. Players use a square board consisting
of 8 rows with 8 squares each. The squares are
placed alternately in white and black colors. Each
player has 16 pieces, either in white or black.
KING (K)
The king can move one square in any directions as
long as the move is not placed in a square under
attack by an opponent’s piece.
QUEEN (Q)
The queen is the most powerful attacking piece. It
can move in a straight line in any direction, for an
unobstructed square.
ROOK (R) or CASTLE
The rook or castle can move any distance as long
as the line is unobstructed by any other pieces.
BISHOP (B)
The bishop moves diagonally for any unobstructed
square. It confines itself in the diagonal lines of
the same color.
KNIGHT (KT)
The knight goes two square in a angle move in
any direction, then it advances one more square at
the right angle.
PAWN (P)
The pawn can move only in a forward line. Each
pawn can move one or two squares on its starting
move, but thereafter, it can only move one square
at a time.
RULES IN PLAYING CHESS
White moves first, then players alternate moves.
Making a move is required; it is not legal to skip a
move, even when having to move is detrimental.
Play continues until a king is checkmated, a player
resigns, or a draw is declared, as explained below.
In addition, if the game is being played under a
time control, a player who exceeds the time limit
loses the game unless they cannot be checkmated.
RULES IN PLAYING CHESS

Fifty-move rule – if in the previous 50

moves by each side, no pawn has moved
and no capture has been made, a draw may
be claimed by either player.
