Software commands for MRx41 Repeater with ICE

Basic Training explaining the most important software commands for ICE-operation

Set Alarmmask

AN ALLEN TELECOM COMPANY

Definition of the severity level for an alarm. According to the syntax of the Set Alarmmask command the following ALARMMASKSTRING is added: -ICE After first power on the ICE alarmmask is set to critical (CRI).

ICE Set Operation

Request : ICE SET OPERATION [ChannelModule][Mode] Response: ENTER CHANNEL MODULE (1-8): [ChannelModule] SET ICE OPERATION MODE:E - ENABLE OPERATION D - DISABLE OPERATION enter choice: [Choice] where : [ChannelModule] is an even number between 1 and 8 [Operation] is either enable or disable. VALUE ERROR in case in case

AN ALLEN TELECOM COMPANY

The operation of ICE can be set. That means you can either enable or disable ICE.

ErrorMessage:

- ChannelModule 1 to 8 - Choice E or D

After first power on the ICE operation mode is enabled.

ICE Set Control

The gain control can be either enabled or disabled. Request : ICE SET CONTROL [ChannelModule][Control]

AN ALLEN TELECOM COMPANY

Response: ENTER CHANNEL MODULE (1-8): [ChannelModule] SET CONTROL : dis AUTOMATIC SETTING DISABLED (DIS) ags AUTOMATIC GAIN SETTING (AGS) enter choice: [Choice] where : [ChannelModule] is an even number between 1 and 8 VALUE ERROR in case - ChannelModule 1 to 8 - Choice DIS or AGS

ErrorMessage:

After first power on the control is set to AUTOMATIC SETTING DISABLED

ICE Set Delay

Request : ICE SET DELAY [ChannelModule][Delay in ns]

AN ALLEN TELECOM COMPANY

This command sets the delay of the ICE module with highest priority and must not be changed by automatic setting!

Response: ENTER CHANNEL MODULE (1-8): [ChannelModule] SELECT DELAY IN ns (270, 320, 370, 420, 470, 520, 570, 620): [Delay] where : [ChannelModule] is an even number between 1 and 8 [Delay] is one of the following: 270, 320, 370, 420, 470, 520, 570, 620 ns DELAYTIME NOT AVAILABLE in case - 220ns > Delay > 620ns - Delay available delay lines

ErrorMessage:

After first power on the proper value must be the selected due to corresponding delay line which is available or 370 ns in case of all delay lines integrated in the ICE module.

ICE SETUP
This command calculates the delay of the ICE-Module Request : ICE setup

AN ALLEN TELECOM COMPANY

Response: ENTER CHANNEL MODULE (1-8): [ChannelModule] ENTER ANTENNA SPACING IN METERS (0-200) : [distance in m] ENTER TOTAL CABLE LENGTH IN METER (0-200) : [length in m] ENTER PROPAGATION VELOCITY IN % (1-100) : [in %] The software calculates the DELAY and activates the DELAY-LINE. If the correct Delay-line is not integrated in the ICE-module, the error message DELAY LINE NOT AVAILABLE is returned. In case, the calculated DELAY is not possible (delay-time<220ns or delaytime>670ns) the error message DELAY TIME NOT AVAILABLE is returned.

ICE Set Power-On Time

AN ALLEN TELECOM COMPANY

This command sets an internal timer which is activated after an oscillation-conditioned power down. Request : ICE SET POTIME [ChannelModule][Delay in ns] Response: ENTER TIME IN min (15-60): [Time] where : [Time] is an even number between 15 to 60 VALUE ERROR in case 15 > Time > 60 min.

ErrorMessage:

ICE Get / ICE Get Operation

Request : ICE GET
Response: ICE OPERATION : ICE CONTROL : ICE POWER-ON-TIME: CHANNEL-MODULE ICE DELAY [ns] : ICE CAP [ns] : ICE SGM UL [dB] : ICE SGM DL [dB] : ENA AGS 15 min 1 2 270 270 270 270 0 0 0 0

AN ALLEN TELECOM COMPANY

Displays the ICE settings. With this command you can see whether ICE is enabled or not.

4 270 270 0 0

5 270 270 0 0

6 270 270 0 0

7 270 ALL 0 0

8 270 270 0 0

Request : ICE GET OPERATION

Response: CHANNEL-MODULE ICE OPERATION 1 : ENA 2 ENA 3 ENA 4 ENA 5 DIS 6 DIS 7 DIS 8 DIS

where:

[Operation] is one of the following: ENA, DIS.

ICE Get Control / ICE Get Delay

Displays the ICE settings. With this command you can see whether ICE is enabled or not. Request : ICE GET CONTROL 1 : DIS 2 AGS 3 4 5 6 7 Response: CHANNEL-MODULE ICE CONTROL where:

AN ALLEN TELECOM COMPANY

[GainControl] is one of the following: DIS, AGS.

This command gets the Delay, which was set by command ICE Set Delay. Request : ICE GET DELAY Response: CHANNEL-MODULE ICE DELAY [ns] where : 1 : 370 2 370 3 4 5 6 7 8

[Delay] is one of the following: 270, 320, 370, 420, 470, 520, 570, 620 ns

After first power on the delay is automatically choosen depending on the available delay line, otherwise (that means if all delay lines available) 370 ns is selected.

ICE Status

AN ALLEN TELECOM COMPANY

After entering the command ICE STATUS, a complete listing of all fixed parameters is given (see following figure). Request : ICE STATUS Response:
CHANNEL-MODULE ICE OSCIL UL ICE OSCIL DL ICE GM UL[dB] ICE GM DL[dB] ICE GR UL[dB] ICE GR DL[dB] : : : : : : 1 OK OK 1 >4 6 6 2 OK OK -1 0 6 6 3 4 5 6 7 8 <CRI> <CRI>

ICE Status Gain Reduction

Request : ICE STATUS GR
Response: CHANNEL-MODULE ICE GR UL [dB]: ICE GR DL [dB]: 1 0 4 2 6 2 3 4 5 6

AN ALLEN TELECOM COMPANY

This command displays the additional Repeater attenuation, inserted by the software (AGS-control) for each link.

where :

[Gain Reduction UL/DL] is a value between 0 and 30 dB

ICE Capability / ICE Version

Request : Response: CHANNEL-MODULE ICE CAP [ns] 1 : 270 2 ALL 3 4 5 6 7 ICE CAP
