instructions for chemicals and other substances used in the production process.
4. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): SOPs outline step-by-step instructions for the production processes, including
ingredient handling, storage, processing, and packaging. These procedures should ensure the segregation of halal and
non-halal materials and prevent cross-contamination.
5. Halal Assurance System (HAS) manual: The HAS manual documents the company's overall halal management system,
including procedures for ingredient sourcing, handling, and production. It outlines the measures in place to ensure
compliance with halal requirements.
6. Records and documentation: Documentation related to the traceability of ingredients, production records, cleaning
and maintenance records, equipment calibration records, and internal audit reports should be maintained.
7. Halal certificates for raw material suppliers: If using halal-certified ingredients from external suppliers, copies of their
halal certificates should be provided to demonstrate the halal status of the sourced materials.
8. Product labels and packaging: Samples of product labels and packaging materials should be submitted to ensure
compliance with halal labeling requirements, such as the use of halal logos and appropriate labeling of ingredients.
