situation
• 2. What do you think are the potential
risk of giving your personal information
to unknown websites?
• 3. How can you protect yourself from
similar scams in the future?
Second Scenario

You are participating in an online class discussion

forum for your English class. Your classmate has posted
a detailed opinion on a particular interpretation of a
novel that you strongly disagree with. He argues that
the protagonist’s actions were entirely justified, which
contradicts your belief that the actions were morally
wrong. You feel compelled to respond, but unsure how
to express your disagreement respectfully.
Process Questions:

• 1. How can you respond to your classmate’s

post in a respectful and constructive manner?
• 2. What are the consequences of not following
proper netiquette in online discussions?
• 3. How does practicing good netiquette
contribute to a positive and productive online
learning environment?
• In the given situation, we are emphasizing
netiquette. Netiquette is a combination of the
words “net” and “etiquette”. This refers to the
set of rules for behaving properly online.
According to Virginia Shea’s The Core Rules of Netiquette, there are
seven rules of netiquette.

• 1. Remember the Human. Remenber, all your

written words will be read by a person, all
deserving to be respected.

online that you follow in real life

Third Scenario

• You are working on a history project about the

Industrial Revolution. You found a website that
has detailed information and decide to use it a
primary source. However, the website lacks
citations and was created by an anonymous
author. Unsure of the site’s credibility, you
decide to use an AI tool to analyze the content
and check its reliability.
Process Questions:

• 1. How can you use the AI tool to determine

the credibility of the information on the
website?
• 2. Why is it important for you to cross-verify
the information from the website with other
credible sources?
• 3. How can you use AI to detect any potential
bias in the website’s content?
• With the advanced features of
technology, it is important to remember
that they are not magic bullet, they are
just one tool in your research toolkit. So
in using AI as your credible source,
always check the content against
reputable websites to know if there are
discrepancies.
• This time, we will have an activity that will
require you to reflect deeply on what we’ve
learned about online safety, security, ethics,
netiquette, and the use of internet as a
credible source. In 15 minutes you will write a
three paragraph reflection essay that
incorporates your personal experiences,
insights, and learning.
You may use the following reflection prompts

• 1. Describe a time when you encountered an

online safety or security issue. How did you
handle the situation?
• 2. How do you ensure that your digital
