    Drive is a 2011 neo-noir action
    drama film directed by Nicolas
    Winding Refn, based on the
    novel of the same name by
    James Sallis. The film follows an
    unnamed driver, played by
    Ryan Gosling, who works as a
    stuntman in Hollywood by day
    and a getaway driver by night.

    Ryan Gosling plays the unnamed
    protagonist, who is only known as
    Driver, who works at a popular
    shop in Los Angeles that builds
    cars that studios use for their
    movies. But he is also the driver of
    the getaway cars in illegal
    robberies of this style, he gives the
    criminals 5 minutes to carry out
    the robbery and return to their car
    so they can escape quickly and
    efficiently, he is very meticulous,
    precise and serious in this job since
    he does not get directly involved in
    crimes, he only helps criminals
    escape.
    Synop
    sis
    The protagonist, known simply as "The Driver"
    (Ryan Gosling), is a lonely man who lives in Los
    Angeles and has a double life: during the day,
    he works as a mechanic and stuntman in
    movies, while at night, acts as a getaway driver
    for criminals. With his exceptional driving skills
    and his personal code of ethics, the Driver
    keeps his life in a delicate balance. The Driver's
    life takes an unexpected turn when he becomes
    involved with his neighbor, Irene, and his young
    son, Benicio, Irene is married to Standard a
    man who is in prison. When Standard is
    released, he is forced to participate in a robbery
    to settle a debt with criminals. The Driver
    decides to help Standard, hoping to protect
    Irene and Benicio.

    The song "Nightcall" addresses themes of
    longing, loneliness, and desire for
    connection. Through its lyrics and musical
    atmosphere, it evokes a sense of nostalgia
    and mystery, perfectly encapsulating the
    film's neo-noir tone.
    The lyrics of "Nightcall" tell the story of
    someone calling their love interest in the
    middle of the night, with an urgent and
    emotional message.
    Personally, it is one of my favorite songs of
    any entertainment product. Its deep and
    atmospheric lyrics make it perfect for the
    intro of the movie.

    notion of what it means to be a true
    hero, not only in terms of bravery
    and strength, but also in terms of
    integrity, love and humanity.
    The lyrics of "A Real Hero" are
    relatively simple but powerful,
    conveying a message of admiration
    and respect towards someone who
    exhibits heroic qualities.

    Symbolism of the
    scorpion jacket
    The scorpion jacket worn by the protagonist in
    the film, It is a significant symbol that reflects
    various aspects of his character, his situation,
    and the film's narrative.
    -Reference to the Myth of the Scorpion and the
    Frog
    The jacket may reference the fable of the
    scorpion and the frog, a story about a scorpion
    who asks a frog to carry him across a river.
    Halfway there, the scorpion stings the frog,
    dooming them both. When the frog asks why, the
    scorpion replies that it is his nature. This fable
    may reflect the internal conflict of the
    protagonist, who despite his attempts to lead a
    more humane and protective life, inevitably
    relapses into violence and danger due to his
    nature and the circumstances in which he finds
    himself.

    Due to the popularity of the
    its cult status, it
    was highly known globally,
    one day Jonatan Söderström
    and Dennis Wedin saw
    Cocaine Cowboys (2009)and
    this film that would serve as
    inspiration for a video game
    that they had in plans and
    that would be released in
    the distant 2012. That
    videogame was the duology
    of Hotline Miami, one of my
    favorite games of all time.
