MOVEMENTS AND
ACTIVITIES RELATING
TO PERSON AND
OBJECTS
INTRODUCTION
You are a part of this world. You interact with
the environment. You use and create objects in many
different ways and interact with other people around
you. You can move alone, with a partner, or with a
group.
What body movements can you do alone or with
other people? How can you move while holding
different objects? Find out in this learning plan.
OBJECTIVES:
This learning plan is designed for you to:
1. describe various movement activities involving person, objects,
music and environment;
2. perform body movements: individually, with partner, and with
group; with ribbon, hoop, balls, and any available
indigenous/improvised materials; and with sound in indoor and
outdoor settings; and
3. appreciate the benefits of doing physical activities to one’s life by
executing movement skills in response to sound and music.
MOVEMENTS
What are movements?
When you change direction and go
to one place to another, we call it
movement. Movements are
changing of directions that can be
upward or downward, forward or
backward, and bending sideward or
left.
Types of Movements
A. Individual Movements- are
movements that you do alone.
Examples: walking, running,
balancing, clapping and more
• When you run, you move
alone. When you drink, it is a
movement. It is done by you
alone.
Let’s do some individual movements.
1. Log Roll- is an individual movement. It is
done individually by rolling your body on the
floor.
2. Dog Walk- is also an individual movement.
It is performed by making your hands a part of
your body supporting it. They will act as your
front feet.
3. Kangaroo jump- is an individual movement.
It is performed by bending your knees slightly
downward and springing upward.
B. Pair Movements- are movements in
pairs are activities performed by partners
with one objective.
Some examples of pair movements are
the following:
1. Mirror Image- is a
pair activity. You can do it
by following your
partner’s movement.
2. Wheelbarrow
Walk- is a great upper
body exercise. It is a
pair movement like
rolling a wheelbarrow.
3. Chinese Get-Up- this
needs coordination. You
will stand up together
with your partner like
what is shown in the
picture.
C. Group Movements- are body activities
performed by a group or groups.
Here are some examples of group
activities or movements.
1. Relay- is a group activity which
you perform with your team mates. It
starts in a front line and endline. You
will stand in frontline and run going
to the end line. This can be a group
of five pupils. You will line up
straight to the area. You will pass a
baton or any stick to your teammates.
This will end until a teammate
reaches the end line with the baton
with him or her.
2. Pyramid Building-
is a group stunt. It is
performed by imitating
the pyramid. It can be
created by putting
yourselves in layers.
