Introduction To ISRO

 ISRO, the Indian Space Research Organisation, was

founded on August 15, 1969, under the visionary
leadership of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai.
 Its headquarters are located in Bengaluru, India, and it is
the primary agency responsible for India's space
research and exploration endeavors
 ISRO operates under the Department of Space, which is
directly overseen by the Prime Minister of India.
ISRO's Major Achievements

Aryabhata - India's First Satellite (1975):

 Aryabhata, India's first satellite, was

successfully launched in 1975.
 The satellite was named after the ancient
Indian mathematician and astronomer
Aryabhata.
 Aryabhata's primary mission was to conduct
scientific experiments in X-ray astronomy and
solar physics.
ISRO's Major Achievements

 Chandrayaan-1 (2008):

 Chandrayaan-1 was India's first lunar

exploration mission, launched in 2008.

 The mission made a significant discovery by

confirming the presence of water molecules
on the moon's surface.

 Chandrayaan-1 played a crucial role in

advancing our understanding of the moon's
geology and lunar environment.
ISRO's Major Achievements

 Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan - 2013)

 Mars Orbiter Mission, nicknamed Mangalyaan, was

India's historic mission to Mars, launched in 2013.
 Mangalyaan's objectives included studying the
Martian surface, morphology, atmosphere, and
mineralogy.
 The total budget for the Mars Orbiter Mission was
approximately 450 crore Indian Rupees (INR).
ISRO's Major Achievements

 Launch of 104 Satellites in a Single Mission

(2017):
 In 2017, ISRO set a world record by successfully
launching 104 satellites in a single mission.
 The record-breaking launch was accomplished
using the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-
C37).
 The mission included a diverse range of satellites
from various countries 96 were from the United
States.
ISRO's Major Achievements

 Chandrayan-3(2023):

 Chandrayaan 3 is the Indian third lunar

mission which was successfully launched on
lunar South pole region.
 It was launched on July 14,2023.
 The mission consists of a lander module, a
propulsion module, and a rover.
ISRO's Launch Vehicles

 PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle)

 GSLV (Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle):
 SLV (Satellite Launch Vehicle):
Future Goals and Vision

 Aditya-L1 Mission:

 India's first solar observatory mission — Aditya-L1 —

was launched by the ISRO on September 2.
 The Aditya-L1 mission is planned to study the Sun
from a near-Earth orbit.
 It will provide crucial data about the Sun's
outermost layer, the corona, and help understand
space weather.
Future Goals and Vision

 Gaganyaan:
 Its primary goal is to send Indian astronauts into space
and achieve crewed missions in low Earth orbit
 The main Gaganyaan will be launched at the end of 2023 or in
2024.
 India and France signed an agreement for cooperation for the
India's first human space mission, Gaganyaan.
CONCLUSION

 ISRO has demonstrated remarkable achievements in space exploration,

satellite technology, and interplanetary missions.
 Its cost-effective approach and reliability in launching satellites have
made it a global leader in space technology.
 In future ISRO will be the at the Top in space agencies by their future
machines.
