24
But Thomas, one of the twelve, called
Didymus, was not with them when Jesus
came. So the other disciples were saying
25

to him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he

said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the
imprint of the nails, and put my finger into
the place of the nails, and put my hand into
His side, I will not believe.”
- John 20:24-25
26
After eight days His disciples were again
inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came,
the doors having been shut, and stood in
their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” 27
Then He said to Thomas, “Reach here with
your finger, and see My hands; and reach
here your hand and put it into My side; and
do not be unbelieving, but believing.” 28
Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord
and my God!”

1
“Brethren and fathers, hear my
defense which I now offer to you.” 2

And when they heard that he was

addressing them in the Hebrew
dialect, they became even more
quiet; and he said,

- Acts 22:1-2
“I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia,
but brought up in this city, educated
under Gamaliel, strictly according to
the law of our fathers, being zealous
for God just as you all are today.

- Acts 22:3
4
I persecuted this Way to the death,
binding and putting both men and
women into prisons, as also the high
5

priest and all the Council of the elders

can testify. From them I also received
letters to the brethren, and started off for
Damascus in order to bring even those
who were there to Jerusalem as prisoners
to be punished.
- Acts 22:4-5
6
“But it happened that as I was on
my way, approaching Damascus
about noontime, a very bright light
suddenly flashed from heaven all
around me, and I fell to the ground
7

and heard a voice saying to me,

‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting
Me?’
- Acts 22:6-7
8
And I answered, ‘Who are You,
Lord?’ And He said to me, ‘I am Jesus
the Nazarene, whom you are
persecuting.’
9
And those who were with me saw
the light, to be sure, but did not
understand the voice of the One who
was speaking to me.
- Acts 22:8-9
10
And I said, ‘What shall I do, Lord?’ And
the Lord said to me, ‘Get up and go on
into Damascus, and there you will be told
of all that has been appointed for you to
do.’
11
But since I could not see because of the
brightness of that light, I was led by the
hand by those who were with me and
came into Damascus.
- Acts 22:10-11
12
“A certain Ananias, a man who was
devout by the standard of the Law,
and well spoken of by all the Jews who
lived there, came to me, and
13

standing near said to me, ‘Brother

Saul, receive your sight!’ And at that
very time I looked up at him.
- Acts 22:12-13
14
And he said, ‘The God of our fathers
has appointed you to know His will and to
see the Righteous One and to hear an
utterance from His mouth. For you will
15

be a witness for Him to all men of what

you have seen and heard. Now why do
16

you delay? Get up and be baptized, and

wash away your sins, calling on His
name.’
- Acts 22:14-16
Who is Jesus? - Eyewitnesses

3. Paul the Apostle:

– Established church in Roman
Empire
– Martyred by Nero in Rome 67 AD
– Gave his life for the church
he once persecuted
15
He is the image of the invisible
God, the firstborn of all creation. 16

For by Him all things were created,

both in the heavens and on earth,
visible and invisible, whether
thrones or dominions or rulers or
authorities—all things have been
created through Him and for Him.
- Colossians 1:15-16
17
He is before all things, and in
Him all things hold together. He
18

is also head of the body, the

church; and He is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead, so that
He Himself will come to have first
place in everything.
- Colossians 1:17-
18

•Supreme over creation •Leads the resurrected
•Agent of creation
Who is Jesus? – The Testimony
of Jesus
1. Samaritan Woman – The Savior Himself

25
The woman said to Him, “I know
that Messiah is coming (He who is
called Christ); when that One comes,
He will declare all things to us.” 26

Jesus said to her, “I who speak to

you am He.”
Who is Jesus? – The Testimony
of Jesus
2. Peter the Apostle - Son of the
Living God
15
He said to them, “But who do you say that
I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are
16

the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 And

Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon
Barjona, because flesh and blood did not
reveal this to you, but My Father who is in
heaven.
- Matthew 16:15-17
Who is Jesus? – The Testimony
of Jesus
3. Apostles - Lord over Heaven and Earth
18
And Jesus came up and spoke to them,
saying, “All authority has been given to Me in
heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and
make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and the Son
and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to
20

observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I

am with you always, even to the end of the
Some of the things the Bible says about
Jesus:

• A true historical • Eternal Being

figure • Agent of Creation
• Jewish Messiah
• Head of the
• Son of God Church
• Lord God Himself • Supreme authority
• Resurrected from in heaven and
earth
the dead
30
Therefore many other signs Jesus
also performed in the presence of the
disciples, which are not written in this
book; but these have been written
31

so that you may believe that Jesus is

the Christ, the Son of God; and that
believing you may have life in His
name.
- John 20:30-31
And there are also many other things
which Jesus did, which if they were
written in detail, I suppose that even
the world itself would not contain the
books that would be written.
