What is Blind Spot
Detection Technology?

The system utilizes radar sensors located on the

sides of the sides of the rear bumper (for cars),
under rear view mirrors (for bikes) to detect
vehicles in adjacent detection zones.
Sensors used in Blind
Spot Detector

The basic variant of blind spot detection can be

implemented using ultra sonic sensors or corner
radar sensors.
Working

The system uses ultra sonic or radar sensors. Like

a bat in nature, ultra sonic sensors use sound
waves to detect objects in their surroundings.
These sensors monitor nearby lanes and
determine when other vehicles approach or enter
your blind spot.
Advantages

 Blind spot detection can monitor the area

and take much of the strain off the driver and
avoid the hazardous situations.
 The point of blind-spot monitoring is to alert
the driver that someone is approaching in the
next lane.
Disadvantages

 The driver must divert his vision from the

road to verify them before making turns and
lane changes.
 Most of the time in city traffic, it is useless.
