Knowing yourself is very important because it allows you
to make better decisions in life. It is also about
understanding your own thoughts, feelings, and
motivations.

SELF-PERCEPTION

• Is basically how one


thinks of himself or
herself.
• It may look simply but
it is a complex
concept.
To know oneself, one must
distinguish these:

Physical Dimension

• Revolves around the physical


body of the human being – its
process, functions, mechanisms,
and chemistry.
Psychological Dimension
• Contains the concepts of stress, cognition,
behavior, attitude, emotion, and ultimately,
personality.
• As compared to the physical dimension which
could be observed directly and be measured.
• Has internal and external factors that can and
cannot be measured.
SPIRITUAL DIMENSION
• Allows us to view ourselves on a spiritual level – as
spiritual beings.
• This dimension cannot be observed but can be
subjective and perceived only by the person
himself or herself.
• This dimension talks about the greater good and
gives meaning and significance to our existence.
