It looks like Olivia Rodrigo has more guts to spill, and she will be doing it really soon on the deluxe version of her critically acclaimed sophomore album.
Olivia Rodrigo announced the deluxe version of GUTS, called GUTS (spilled), mid-concert at the United Center in Chicago on March 19, 2024. The star chose to deliver the news in the middle of her performance of “get him back!,” the last song on her encore stage, with a dramatic pause between the song's chorus and the second verse. At that moment, Rodrigo and her dancers held up signs that read "GUTS deluxe out Friday" and revealed the new songs' titles.

Though Livies are already familiar with most of the new tracks, the five unreleased songs added to GUTS (spilled), which is already available to pre-save, are "obsessed," "stranger," "scared of my guitar," "girl i've always been," and "so american." The project is slated to release on Friday, March 22, 2024.

In addition to the song titles, Rodrigo also unveiled the cover art for GUTS (spilled). The image is the same as the original version of the album, with a paper rip covering her entire face. The deluxe album's title is in black sans serif font in the middle of the ripped hole.

Rodrigo accompanied the announcement of GUTS (spilled) with a handwritten letter hyping fans up for the release. "Surprise!!! GUTS (spilled) is coming March 22nd! It will include new versions of the secret songs from the original GUTS vinyl, including 'obsessed,' which I've been having so much fun performing on tour!! The deluxe version will also include a brand new song called 'so american' which I'm stoked for you guys to hear."

Prior to the announcement mid-concert, Rodrigo seemed to tease the deluxe version of GUTS via her hotline, which played a snippet of "obsessed" when fans called it.

With GUTS, which was released on September 2023, Olivia Rodrigo earned six Grammy nominations, including the coveted Album of the Year nod, which ended up going to Taylor Swift's midnights. She might have gone home empty-handed, but she still gave us a bloody amazing performance of "vampire" during Grammys night.
Since February, she has been on the road with her GUTS World Tour, which will continue until August, with stops dotted across North America, Europe, and back to North America. Will she debut "so american" at one of the shows? One can only hope and wait!
