Synopsis

14 years after nearly ending the world in the “Third Impact,” Shinji Ikari awakes to a devastated world. Though he was once this world’s last hope, he is seen now as a harbinger of destruction. Enter Kaworu Nagisa, a mysterious pianist who understands Shinji on a level that nobody has ever done before. As Shinji returns to his life, the battle for humanity rages on. Will Shinji ever pilot the Evangelion Unit-01 again? Or does his very awakening herald the final destruction of all mankind? Evangelion: 3.0 You Can.(Not) Redo is an all new story, following the events of Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance.

Our DVD and Blu-ray sales estimates are based on weekly retail surveys, which we use to build a weekly market share estimate for each title we are tracking. The market share is converted into a weekly sales estimate based on industry reports on the overall size of the market, including reports published in Media Play News.

For example, if our weekly retail survey estimates that a particular title sold 1% of all units that week, and the industry reports sales of 1,500,000 units in total, we will estimate 15,000 units were sold of that title. The consumer spending estimate is based on the average sales price for the title in the retailers we survey.

We refine our estimates from week to week as more data becomes available. In particular, we adjust weekly sales figures for the quarter once the total market estimates are published by the Digital Entertainment Group. Figures will therefore fluctuate each week, and totals for individual titles can go up or down as we update our estimates.

Because sales figures are estimated based on sampling, they will be more accurate for higher-selling titles.

Full financial estimates for this film, including domestic and international box office, video sales, video rentals, TV and ancillary revenue are available through our research services. For more information, please contact us at research@the-numbers.com.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

This week the home market is led by a Blu-ray double-dip, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, while there is also an Oscar contender, Bridge of Spies, on the top. After that, the list is filled with bombs and weaker limited releases. It was an easy choice to select Snow White as Pick of the Week. More...

The Rocket poster

It's a relatively busy week for new releases, but sadly, almost none of them are earning overall positive reviews. Banshee Chapter is one exception, but it is the wrong genre for limited release. On the other hand, The Rocket is earning the best reviews and it is the kind of film that can thrive in limited release. Perhaps it can be an early year success story. More...
