Contest - Kids Night Out

May 15th, 2009

Next week is the Memorial Day long weekend, which does complicate things on the weekly box office prediction contest. Our target film is Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, which should benefit thanks to its target audience (something it shares with this week's prizes). However, while it's a long weekend, we are only looking for the Friday to Sunday numbers. In order to win, one must simply predict the opening weekend box office of Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Whoever comes the closest to predicting the film's opening 3-day weekend box office (Friday to Sunday), without going over, will win a copy of A Plumm Summer on DVD, as well as Imagination Movers - Warehouse Mouse Edition on DVD. Meanwhile, whoever comes the closest to predicting the film's opening 3-day weekend box office (Friday to Sunday), without going under, will also win a copy of A Plumm Summer on DVD, as well as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - Mickey's Big Splash on DVD. Entries must be received by 10 a.m., Pacific Time on Friday to be eligible, so don't delay! More...

DVD Releases for May 5th, 2009 - Part II

May 5th, 2009

The last of the Best Picture Oscar Nominees hits the home market this week. And while the Blu-ray arrived late, the Two-Disc DVD of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is worthy of the DVD Pick of the Week. On the other hand, no other release on this week's list came close to be a contender for that title, and overall it was a rather slow week. Still not so slow that I didn't have to split this week's column into two parts, with the second part found here. More...

DVD Releases for April 21st, 2009 - Part II

April 21st, 2009

Not much in the way of first run releases this week, but we do have more Awards Season players coming out on the home market. However, if you want the best of the best, you have to look to Sin City - 2-Disc Blu-ray. This week's list was a little too big to fit on one page, so the second part can be found here. More...
