The Minister was apprised that
ANF is also undertaking drug demand reduction campaign through public awareness drives and community participation activities throughout Pakistan.
Director Headquarters Brigadier Sheikh Muhammad Ali Haque briefed the federal minister on counter narcotics achievements of
ANF, current drug situation and major challenges being faced with regard to trafficking of narcotics, precursor chemicals and psychotropic substances.
According to
ANF spokesman, the seized drugs comprised of 102.31 kg Hashish, 376.6 kg Opium, 13.934 kg Heroin, 4.625 kg Methamphetamine (Ice) and 5.184 kg Amphetamine (Ice).

ANF, on a tip off that a drug smuggling racket might attempt to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics, enhanced road checking of vehicles to thwart the bid.
ANF officials said a suspect identified as Aijaz has been arrested and a case registered against him.
