"By creating one larger, more powerful organization, CREW New York will provide its members and sponsors with greater opportunities," 2014 AREW president Erin Bond told the gathering.

AREW excels at the two leading reasons for doing so: the opportunity to keep abreast of current news and trends, enhancing your industry knowledge, and to network with other professionals, forging relationships in congenial surroundings that ultimately serve to build our members' businesses and careers.

When asked her goal when founding the organization, AREW's first president, Merle Gross Ginsburg, candidly said "Survival".

The announcement was jointly made by 2013 AREW president Lina Telese, Zetlin & DeChiara, and 2014 president Erin Bond, New York Law School, after a review of 2013 membership, sponsorship and activities of the AREW Charitable Fund, a 501 [C] not for profit founded in 1989, in the transition to the new fiscal year.

In that capacity, she will oversee AREW's administrative, managerial, strategic planning and fiduciary responsibilities, heading a 21-person board of directors, as well as an annual schedule of luncheons, breakfasts, seminars, tours and special events focused on enhancing professional knowledge and skills and building business connections for the association's members.

The 35th Anniversary Gala is being overseen by gala chair Debra Cole, director of client relations, HLW International LLP, and AREW president Lina Telese, Esq., partner, Zetlin & De Chiara LLP.

Cole is well known in the New York marketplace for her work with organizations including AREW, CoreNet Global NYC Chapter, New York Building Congress and Professional Women in Construction.

Lina Telese, Esq., partner with Zetlin & De Chiara LLP, a leading construction law firm, has been elected 2013 president of the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW).
