It’s no surprise that America is home to an array of top-notch hotels with incredible amenities to make guests feel like true VIPs, among them being accommodations with private pools. What’s more, why some U.S. hotels boast truly amazing pools, there’s something special about unwinding with a soak just steps from your bed—and away from the crowds (read: no more having to wake up at the crack of dawn for a lounge chair!). From Massachusetts to California and beyond, here are a few of our favorite U.S. hotel rooms with private pools and/or hot tubs (oh, and did we mention some have both?!). Just be sure to pack your swimsuit!

Stunning U.S. hotels rooms with private pools

1. E-WOW Penthouse and Poolside Bungalows at W South Beach | Miami Beach, FL

After a fun- and booze-fueled night spent drinking and dancing at Miami’s hottest clubs, hang by your very own private pool at the W South Beach. The three-story poolside bungalows all have flora-filled outdoor courtyards complete with chaise lounges, an outdoor dining area, and a plunge pool. The rooftop gardens are an incredible added bonus. Or, for something even more extravagant book the 2,000-plus-square-foot E-WOW Penthouse, where the private plunge pool is ideally situated on the roof so that you can soak up the panoramic city views. A few steps from the pool you’ll also find a lush garden and telescope for stargazing.

2. El Presidente & King Hacienda Grande Suites at La Quinta Resort & Club | La Quinta, CA

Those craving a dreamy desert retreat just two hours from Los Angeles can check into the La Quinta Resort & Club in Palm Springs. The resort’s casita-style accommodations are spread across 45 acres dotted with colorful blooms, cacti, and citrus trees. Additionally, the property boasts a total of 41 (!) pools for guests to take a dip in; however, accommodations with private pools are also available. Live large by booking the El Presidente Suite, which has 2,000 feet of indoor-outdoor space, including an expansive patio equipped with a pool and hot tub. Another excellent option is the King Hacienda Grande suite: While it’s slightly smaller at 1,970 square feet, it, too, has its own pool and hot tub.

3. Signature Waterside Suites at Wequassett Resort & Golf Club | Harwich, MA

Between its beautiful beaches, quaint shops, charming small towns, centuries-old history, and laid-back island vibe, it’s no wonder why so many Americans flock to Cape Cod every summer. Live out your coastal grandmother dreams at the Wequassett Resort & Golf Club, which makes an excellent home base for exploring the island. We recommend booking one of the Signature Waterside Suites with outdoor spas, private Jacuzzi tubs, and fireplaces. Take your stay to the next level with a romantic turndown: post-dinner at the on-site Twenty-Eight Atlantic restaurant, couples can retreat to their jacuzzi—which will be adorned with flickering candles and fresh rose petals—so they can soak and sip champagne in style.

4. Lanai Suite at The Cosmopolitan | Las Vegas, NV

When you’re in Las Vegas, the motto is “go big or go home,” which is why a stay in one of The Cosmopolitan’s Lanai Suites is well worth the splurge. These two-story suites—which feel more like beach houses in the middle of Sin City—encompass 800 square feet of indoor-outdoor space and offer opulent amenities, including, you guessed it, private plunge pools. However, those who prefer to take a dip in a larger body of water are in luck: Nine out of the 11 Lanai Suites offer direct access to The Chelsea Pool (a stylish albeit serene oasis that feels worlds away from Vegas’ hustle and bustle) from the terraces. Other suite highlights include floor-to-ceiling windows and a chic ground floor complete with a kitchenette, a spacious living area, and a dining area. From there, walk up the winding staircase to retreat to your loft-style bedroom.

As one of the most scenic coastal locales in the country, Monterey offers tons to see and do—and the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa is one of the best places to stay when in town. For the ultimate indulgence, book the President’s House, a stand-alone villa that spans a total of 2,500 square feet. While the four bedrooms, spacious living and dining rooms, and full kitchen are equally impressive, the true star of the show here is the private swimming pool in the sprawling backyard. When you’re not playing a game of volleyball or Marco Polo in the water, make your way to one of the lounge chairs to soak up the sun in style; otherwise, chill out in the shade on one of the sofas.

6. Kiva Suites at Bishop's Lodge, Auberge Resorts Collection | Santa Fe, NM

Located in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the luxurious Bishop's Lodge, Auberge Resorts Collection is one of our favorite places to stay in arty Santa Fe. Do yourself a favor and snag one of the one-bedroom Kiva Suites, which are situated in a secluded corner of the resort. These suites, which are available only to adults, feature traditional Southwest architecture. Meanwhile, the surrounding valley views are best enjoyed from the comfort of your outdoor plunge pool. Between dips, cozy up by the adjacent outdoor fireplace or take a seat in one of the rocking chairs—glass of vino in hand, of course.

7. Island Grand, Premiere, and Romance Suites at Little Palm Island | Little Torch Key, FL

This adults-only private island resort in the Florida Keys is, without a doubt, one of the most romantic hotels in the country thanks to its idyllic setting. Between days spent kayaking in the clear blue waters, tucking into fresh-caught fish, and relaxing in the spa, it’s (pretty much) impossible to be bored here. And, while these amenities and activities are impressive, the accommodations here truly take the cake: 19 out of the resort’s 30 thatched-roof oceanfront bungalow suites offer oversized outdoor copper soaking tubs. Additionally, depending on the suite category, your tubs are perfectly perched to provide prime views of the beach (just steps away) or the surrounding lush tropical foliage and flora, including swaying palms.

8. Mesa and Desert Pool Suites at Amangiri | Canyon Point, UT

This iconic celeb-loved resort sits on 900 acres of desert landscape (think: canyons, mesas, ridges and gorges) in southern Utah. The property—which was constructed around a central swimming pool wrapped around sandstone rock dating back 165 million (!) years—boasts a striking minimalist-inspired aesthetic complete with modernist suites, the Mesa and Desert Pool View Suites being among our favorites. As you can guess by their names, both suite categories offer private plunge pools (as if the main one wasn’t enough!), and private sky terraces with daybeds. The main difference? One offers desert views while the other has views of undulating dunes and plateaus.

9. Warner Cottage at San Ysidro Ranch | Montecito, CA

A handful of A-listers call tony Montecito home, including Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Rob Lowe, and, most recently, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that the community is home to one of the country’s most luxe hotels, San Ysidro Ranch. Here, “hotel rooms” take the form of 38 vine-covered cottages surrounded by lush landscapes (i.e., citrus groves, olive trees, magnolias, jasmine, sycamores, oaks, and more). The property’s spectacular 6,000-square-foot Warner Cottage is beloved for its 33-foot-long heated swimming pool, which is flanked by plush loungers. There’s also an oversized sunken spa (a.k.a. hot tub) and an outdoor rain shower.

10. Clingmans Cottages at Blackberry Mountain | Walland, TN

Retreat to nature at Blackberry Mountain, which spans a whopping 5,200 acres in the Great Smoky Mountains. The Relais & Chateaux property—which is easily among America’s best all-inclusive—is chock-full of rustic-chic charm. While the property’s sparkling infinity pool is fun to take a dip in, those craving a more private soak can book one of the 1,010-square-foot Clingman's Cottages, which boat gorgeous outdoor soaking tubs plus panoramic mountain views. And, while property refers to it as a “tub,” we’d categorize it as a small pool since it can fit two people (if not more). Adjacent to the pool is an outdoor fireplace to keep you warm all year round.
