disclaimer: i have adhd + autism (the wombo combo) and i cannot guarantee how consistent my posting will be, especially if i get into something that i haven't posted about before. i hope you enjoy the ride lol

enjoy your stay!

hello friends i know several of you are also adhd havers and i was wondering if you could help me.

people always tell me how good it feels to check sth off their todo list/to close out of a task etc. and i uh. simply do not experience that at all, like i get no joy from finishing stuff or checking it off or anything.

and from what i understand this is a symptom of adhd so my question is, if you experience this, what are your strategies around it, do you have a way to activate that reward feeling etc.?

i have a mixture of ADHD and autism, and if there's one thing that ive noticed about myself, and is that, i can not get that dopamine from checking off lists!

adhd relies quite a bit on urgency, meaning that some of us work incredibly well under pressure (knowing there is a looming deadline to do something) so one thing i try to do is set a timer for the thing im meant to do (say im completing a gifset. im setting an hour) and see if i can get under that time! it ends up feeling like a game of beating your high score.

that same timer concept applies to cleaning, showering, or even doing my makeup (i can now quickly do makeup in 10m because of it). if ive managed to get under the time limit i had set for myself, it's a dopamine rush 100%.

and then ill treat myself to going out for a coffee or something when im proud of myself :)

that's the first thing i can think of!!

@faunandfloraas for you, too

it's more of a general question that was prompted after seeing a skz gif- Do people find it attractive, neutral, or a turn off when guy's grab their crotches (during performances and such) and is their answer impacted by if they are attracted to men (ex. i find it attractive and i'm attracted to men. i am neutral and am not attracted to men. i am turned off by it and am attracted to men. etc). Personally i find it unattractive/a turn off and am attracted to men so it made me wonder what other people think since it's such a common thing from male performers

Alright, let's do it
