Red, he/him, drop into my asks or DMs any time you want (I don’t typically tag my reblogs for spoilers or any of my posts for triggers, so let me know if you’d like me to)

quick table of contents

my Jeeves Substack: @lettersregardingjeeves

my translation blog: @transtranslations

the Please, Jeeves translation blog: @righthonyakutranslations

my resource docs:

Tags I Use Here

#red randomness - whatever I’m thinking of - maybe a dumb joke, maybe a depressing headcanon, maybe something in between. sometimes long, sometimes short, sometimes includes additions I made to other people’s posts. also includes future projects I want to make, long and short, so I can get my ideas out to the world even if I never finish them.

#red writing – pretty much exactly what it sounds like, both original work and fanfiction... in theory because I really don't write as much as I should

#red responses – my responses to asks

#received by red - commissions, gifts, requests, or people doing art based on my writing/posts/ideas

#red reviews - attempts at reviewing media. probably an inconsistently used tag lol

#useful resources - exactly what it sounds like, though they may sometimes only be useful to me lmao

#100 and up neat is a note tag so I can keep track of the occasional Banger Tweet Post

everything else on here (read: 90% of content) is just reblogs

I know that realistically you can only fit so many movies into a list of approximately 100, but I cannot take that "How many of tumblr's favorite movies have you seen?" list that's been going around seriously because there are some truly egregious omissions.

Some of it is very clearly recency bias, which makes me wonder if the op truly wasn't on here in 2013 or so, but you're telling me you made a list of "tumblr's favorite movies" that doesn't include Pacific Rim or Mad Max: Fury Road? Because, like, I was there, Gandalf.

I'm a ridiculous human and genuinely couldn't sleep until I tried my hand at a better, more balanced list -- though of course, I have my own biases when it comes to what corners of this website I've lurked in over the years. For what it's worth, I did consult the last several Years In Review, while also drawing on the fact that I've been here for over a decade. But if there's anything that truly doesn't feel like it should have made the cut, blame my mutuals for putting it on my dash all the time.

(And apologies, but I couldn't seem to find Goncharov among the website's listings)

Artist's Note: I feel like I've accrued a good amount of these, so I decided to make a collection. Ryulock is precious. The Great Ace Attorney was so good...

(P. S.) Thank you for all your comments, they encourage me so much~~

(I think the "theme" at the end may be this song?)

Anyway, please go check out the link up top! This is just the only comic in it - there are loads of really cute Ryulock pictures that the artist deserves a like for!

on god "dni if you're a transandrophobia truther"/"transandrophobia isn't real and the belief that it is is repackaged transmisogyny" is just a new flavor of "asexuals/aroace people aren't discriminated against enough to qualify as lgbt"/"there are hardly any laws against lesbian sex as opposed to gay male sex so their struggles are worthless and invalid"/"you aren't trans unless you have dysphoria"-tier oppression olympics

like do you genuinely, actually believe that trans men are indistinguishable from cis men. do you unironically think that bigots, both outside and inside the queer community, seeing trans men as women who are confused, corrupted, wannabes, or traitorous to their sex has zero bearing on trans men's place in society. does the fact that terfs hate trans people, men, and anyone they perceive as having slighted femininity have no effect on trans men, who fit in all three of those categories. does the fear of and distaste for anything perceived as masculinity in many queer spaces not also affect those who present as masculine. is your conception truly that the misogynist patriarchal hegemony, which pervades every aspect of life on this fucked-up earth, spares trans men entirely because they can occasionally pass as cis. have we forgotten about intersectionality, and about how queers - any kind of queers - are the enemy of that hegemony.

anyway adding something to this effect to my carrd so i'll be blocking people saying this kind of thing

#red randomness#i feel like i'm having another case of wondering why people had a problem with folks calling themselves#he/him or nb or bi lesbians#and then looking it up and going 'oh this is in fact reasoning that is stupid bad and harmful'#and i am sure that this mindset toward trans men came from trans women who have been dismissed and mistreated#by trans men who were misogynist and transmisogynist#but to respond by going 'well actually trans men have no unique discrimination so they should shut up'#is in fact the same dismissal and leads to the same mistreatment#much like how women who were justifiably outraged and traumatized by abuse at the hands of men#but turned that into blanket despising anything they viewed as male as being the enemy#is exactly how terfs formed in the first place#in the same way that we can acknowledge that terfs play into the hands of misogyny#it's equally true that trans people are no less free of holding misogyny in their hearts#there are unquestionably trans men who lean into misogynist bullshit in an attempt to pass#or whose hatred of their lives as women manifests as a belief in the inferiority of all women (especially those who 'choose' to be women)#but by the same token trans women can and sometimes do absolutely hold misogynist beliefs too#no one's status as a minority absolves them from being bigoted toward their own minority or others#and definitely doesn't absolve them of being bigoted toward *other* minorities#can we not acknowledge that trans women are uniquely and viciously in the crosshairs of a society#that hates 'men' who transgress in feminine ways#without completely disregarding the discrimination suffered by their trans male counterparts?#for instance the fact that trans men have the highest suicide rate out of any part of the trans community#is proof that there are forms of discrimination unique to them#this does not in any way discount that trans women have higher rates of being murdered#but that's the thing - bigots hate us both and at the end we're both just as dead#(also side note: as a black trans man i have to accept the fact that i will be more of a target to cops after transitioning)#(meaning i effectively have to choose between not expressing my gender identity or further endangering myself in the eyes of society)#(which is one of the reasons i mentioned intersectionality)#ultimately unless you are deliberately speaking over others (like going to a post about trans women and going 'but what about trans men???'#speaking out about unique forms of discrimination absolutely positively does not equate to silencing other forms of discrimination

all ages referenced from the AA wiki, if the birth year is listed as sometime between two years, I took the lower year. capcom really were like [slaps the roof of AA] "this bad boy can fit so many 90s babies"

phew! this project was a labour of love that started when I read a fic set pre Blackquill going to jail, where a smartphone was used to connect to a car and stream music, and it threw me so completely I had to google what year it was set in and ??? he went to jail in 2020???? and then I spiralled down a rabbit hole of looking up all these characters' ages to get context for how they all fit together, and it lead to this! the only gen alpha character I could find was Jinxie, who was born in 2012, and sadly the Judge does not have a listed age but I assume he's also somewhere in the Boomer category. I tried to get a mix of characters across the different games though alas, there are so MANY millenials in this franchise that there were a few I had to leave out just for space reasons.

EDIT: Klavier's birth year fixed! you guys are correct, wiki lists it as 2001, I got mixed up

so I finally started watching JoJo with my boyfriend

and of course we had to do a Netflix dub homosexuality tierlist of what Joseph calls Caesar after that bit where Caesar saves Joseph from falling off the cliff during the fight with Kars

without further ado, from least to most homosexual:

5. Spanish: “Caesar, mi amigo” - weak

4. English: “Caesarino” - also in the English sub, lame

3. original Japanese: “Caesar-chan” - possibly, but not necessarily, homosexual. definitely weird though

2. German: “Caesarlein”, “mein süßer Nudelauflauf” (my cute noodle casserole) - not only an insane combo but also apparently the second phrase isn’t even something anyone says in German lmao. get Italianed

and speaking of which…

1. Italian: “Cesare bello” (“handsome/beautiful/sweetheart Caesar”) - ??????? (also I love that they made his name more Italian)

terrible news I just found out from a friend that the Korean subs don't even add anything. he just says "Caesar". so it is awarded #7 because it's even worse than mi amigo. Korean Caejose stocks in shambles
