I have some, probably, controversial opinions about AJR, some may be just stupid. But let's see...
-I don't like Neotheater. At all. I like the era, everything was cool, but I've never seen someone actually enjoy the album or songs beyond Karma, Don't Throw Out My Legos and Birthday Party. I couldn't listen to half the songs completely, I felt like falling asleep, specially during 100 Bad Days (I REALLY hate that song...) So in my opinion, Neotheater is the worst album, atleast in ny eyes.
-'I'm Sorry You Went Crazy', as people speculate it's called, it's not Turning Out Pt.iv; it has been stated the Turning Out saga ended in Turning Out Pt.iii and there wasn't going to be a fourth part. It could either be Ryan's thoughts, even a dream or a story he saw or heard somewhere. It could be about his mom, it could be literally anything but not another Turning Out part.
-Living Room just has something that makes all of us cringe at some point but love it anyways.
-We all agree that Pitchfork Kids is their best song and they should appreciate it more. Did you know Jack hates it and refuses to play it again? Yeah, not on my watch. When they come to my country I'll hypnotize them. Ricky when I catch you Ricky /ref.
-Arnetta and Ginny Luke deserve their own little fandom too🥹 I love Arnetta's energy, she's a Jesus lover and super charismatic, that's all I need. And Ginny's voice... Oh my God, have you listened to her music? She sings so... SO. SOMETHING SOMETHING. I love her.
-Probably doesn't count because most of us weren't even born before it, but the Born And Bred era/earliest AJR era is the cringiest. I love it, I sometimes love the cringe, but oh my God... My Very First Love Song and those songs with them tapping make me want to rip my skin off. I could pretend That Ain't Me Anymore and We The Cool Kids were the only songs they made during that time, I'm so, so capable of doing so.
-Record Player is their best song featuring other artists. Daisy The Great give me many AURORA vibes, their voices literally kiss my ears, it's perfect.
I think I'm done. Do you agree with any of these? What are your possibly controversial/unpopular AJR opinions?
Firstly let me say that one of the joys of life is that we are all different and as long people aren't being mean (which this post isn't!) I don't mind what I disagree with 😊

-With regards to Neotheater, it's not my fave fave album but I absolutely LOVE Next Up Forever and Finale. I really resonate with them. Also Break My Face, The Entertainment's Here and Wow I'm not Crazy are just fun and I enjoy that. I do, however, always skip Don't Throw Out My Legos haha. It just makes me feel too sad.
-i am SURE that Sorry You Went Crazy is about their mom. Call it intuition, call it context clues, call it experience with a shitty parent, but I am 100% sure
-I just don't find Living Room to be cringy. But I don't cringe easily so the bar is different for me.
- I'm two months older than Adam so I have a different perspective of those old songs. Are they great? No, they are unpolished, simplistic, and immature. But for their ages when they made them? The talent and drive is clear and I appreciate them for that. Also the bravery. It's not easy to put art out into the world. It reminds me of my early writing (in terms of the talent and skills developing) and I enjoy seeing how they've grown. Also any time I get to hear Adam sing is a good time.
-RECORD PLAYER MY BELOVED!!!! But I also absolutely adore Too Late and All My Favorite Songs.
I think maybe my most controversial opinion is that I'm kinda bored of Weak. Not saying it's a bad song but it doesn't resonate with me at all. Also I think AJR could up their social media game and potentially have more reach. Also also I wish they'd release the TMM documentary they promised us at the end of 2022
