I'm late to the party but I have to shout out both the new kitchen set and the newly patched in hairstyle!

I played through the latest event with this gal and I it was as bland and samey as ever. I really feel like they could do better with these events.

After all these years I keep realizing how much I love City Living and the Spice District in particular. I love that the small size of the neighborhood makes it 200% more lively compared to newer worlds. I'm a little scared that Hobbies & Businesses new world's two larger neighborhoods will feel super empty.

Catscratch Crafts & Café - CC Free

Thanks to the EA Game Changer program for providing me with a copy of this new pack!

Right at the center of Brindleton Bay the two oldest buildings in town still stand strong and colorful right on the dock. They’ve housed many things throughout the years but nothing has come close in popularity compared to the Catscratch Crafts & Café. These two businesses provide the coziest atmosphere and are super cat friendly. Come hang out! If you’re really loving it you might even be interested in renting the upstairs apartment?

Some Hobbies & Business ramblings!

This oldie will finally have a useful upstairs apartment with the new pack!

I'm watching some early access videos on youtube and I love that so many of the prebuilt lots in the world are small business residentials.

Also, the world being a total mashup of Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo feels very cozy to me as a Swede. Let's just hope that the weather isn't as awful as here though because that would mean 80% of the year would be grey, rainy and cold. *looks out at another grey, cloudy and cold day through my window* 😅

Refreshed Goth Mansion - with improved floor plan

Most of the refreshed basegame houses from a few patches back are 100% better than their original version but I was a little disappointed with the floor plan of the new Goth's house. Today I decided to try my hand at improving it. Here's what I've done so far!

  • Downstairs Bathroom Added because it makes gameplay much more convenient and the entrance was larger than needed anyway. A better use of those tiles!
  • Kitchen It's just more fun to have a more generous kitchen when you're playing and this version has a lot more room for appliances. I also added a door between the kitchen and living room for easy access when grabbing a snack or a cup of coffee. We architect's love a floor plan were you can circle around!
  • Living Room The living room is slightly smaller to give room to the improved kitchen but by moving the chess table to the entrance we don't loose any gameplay objects on this floor. I also added a framed TV over the fireplace and a few more seats for those social gatherings.
  • Dining Room A very small change from a four seat dining table to a six seat version because I wholeheartedly feel like the Goth's should be able to host dinner parties for more than four sims.

Time to tackle the next floor where I feel that way too much space is wasted in the hallway. Should be able to fit at least one more room up there!

The sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack

OPEN YOUR DREAM BUSINESS Dream big and create a small business that will leave your Sim feeling fulfilled. Make and sell pottery or other crafts, provide a service like tattoos or classes, or come up with something unique. Use the selection tool to designate space in your home for doing what you love and making a living at it. With the new Ticket Kiosk you can run the business you want, charging customers for entry or for time spent. Run a family business and hire your Sim’s household, or meet the perfect candidate and offer them a job. Explore the possibilities with the new Small Business system.

MAKE YOUR MARK With the new Tattooing skill you can give Sims pre-made, custom, or dedication tattoos. As you level up your skill you’ll unlock more stamps and stencils, and increase the odds of excellent results. Body art is about freedom of expression and to celebrate that you can now freely create your own designs in Tattoo Paint Mode. Tattoos can even be layered. Share your custom Tattoo designs with other Simmers using the Gallery, or browse for Tattoos to use in your game.

MOLD YOUR FUTURE As you hone your Pottery skill using the Pottery Wheel, more designs – like functional tea sets, planters, incense burners, and more – will become available to you. Finish your pieces in the Pottery Kiln; there are plenty of options for glazes. At higher levels of the Pottery skill, Sims can use the Japanese art of Kintsugi to create beautiful pieces from broken ceramics.

A WORLD OF POSSIBILITY Build your future in a town steeped in history. Nordhaven is the perfect place to pursue the things you care most about, like creative and inspiring hobbies. Sims can attend Meetups to mix and mingle with those who are passionate about the same hobbies – they may even find someone to mentor them in their favorite skill. Sims can become mentors at high skill levels, or they can build their legacy by hosting Classes and Lectures. Listening to a Lecture is one of the ways a Sim may earn Mastery Perks. Hobbies are best when shared, so explore the new neighborhoods of Gammelvik and Iverstad to meet like-minded Sims!

The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies is available on March 6th, 2025, on all platforms!

Happy Announcement!

We're expecting our first child this summer! I haven't posted anything and have barely been opening my game since October last year and it's because I've been feeling like a potato during the first trimester. I'm finally feeling a little better now that I'm a few weeks into the second trimester and I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things here!

I've been catching up on announcements and updating my mods this weekend and I'm feeling inspired to play my lepacy save again!

I can't wrap my head around the fact that this franchise is 25 years old this year. I'm looking forward to see what the celebrations will bring and what the next big pack is going to be. Do we have any guesses yet? I'm secretely wishing for a post apocalyptic pack. 😅
