The only thing prevailing wage indicates is that depending on what trade your worker is performing, they get paid a particular wage. These wages are typically split into two categories, residential (lower) and building (higher). Also, because prevailing wage jobs are typically higher paid, there tends to be some shady stuff regarding payroll and kickbacks.
