James stuck out his hand awkwardly.

“Hey. I’m James. Vowles. I’m over at Mercedes.”

Sainz pursed his lips as he shook James’ hand. “Carlos. Er – Sainz.”

Despite himself, James smiled - as if a Formula 1 driver would ever have to introduce himself for people to know who he was. “Right, yes, I’ve heard of you."

(Or - James first meets Carlos in 2015, and then never stops thinking about him.)
