Hi! Thank you for the ask! 😄 In chapter 2, Shadowheart will take Elody to the Cloister of Sombre Embrace. Here’s a wee snippet of the first draft:

A silent reverence hung in the air. It was clear that the place was built with great respect for this goddess. Everything was so meticulous, so impeccably beautiful, Elody found herself wondering how anything evil could exist in such a place. They arrived at a large, round door, with statues of a masked woman, towering from floor to ceiling, on either side.

”Is that…” Elody began, unable to finish the sentence as she marvelled at the grandeur of the place.

”Lady Shar? Yes. That’s our Dark Lady,” Shadowheart said. ”Glorious, is she not?”

"Lay a hand on me in friendship"

Gods, imagine needing just a friendly-ish touch to be set free, yet staying imprisoned for over a century 'cause sharrans suck ass

Meet my Tav: Elody Sutton

Elody is the Tav in my new DJ Shadowheart redemption story, ”I Saw You in the Darkness”. Hailing from Modern day London, she suddenly finds herself in Baldur’s Gate. With her background in publishing, she is told to introduce herself as a bard when talking to people she doesn’t know. This includes Shadowheart, Mother Superior of the Cloister of Sombre Embrace.

Only one chapter in, I’m already having such a good time with this character. I’m excited to see how she’ll develop over time!

16 please for Eliza and Jen

Avatar

Hello and thank you for the delicious prompt ❤️I love writing about the Ranch AU, Where the Heart Stays, girls as well, and we also came a full circle as I wrote my first kiss prompt about them and now this is the last prompt I've got left! I was also imagining that this scene continues from the first kiss prompt. So here's some Jen x Eliza lazy kissing from Jen's pov 😊

Kiss lazily

The searing heat and pleasure gradually faded and settled into a warm afterglow. The rhythm of Eliza’s tongue eased up, her movements slowing into gentle, soothing licks before stopping altogether. Eliza’s head peeked from between Jen’s spread legs, and Jen couldn’t help but smile at how adorable she looked, her expression radiated satisfaction.

“And here I thought I was the one getting satisfaction,” Jen teased her.

Eliza’s lip curved into a lopsided smile. “Mmm, I love making you feel good.” Her fingertips traced Jen’s thigh, moving slowly over her hips.

“You do, darlin’. You make me feel real good,” Jen whispered, her chest feeling light and warm, her eyes shimmering. She reached for Eliza’s arm and tugged it gently, coaxing her to move closer. Eliza came willingly, draping herself across Jen, her head coming to rest on Jen’s chest.

“I could fall asleep right here,” Eliza whispered, nuzzling against Jen’s skin before closing her eyes.

“Go right ahead, Liz,” Jen murmured, her hand caressing Eliza’s hair slowly.

It didn’t take long before Eliza’s breathing evened out, her body becoming heavier on top of Jen. Jen couldn’t help but smile; she was unsure if she had ever seen anything quite as adorable, though there had been many moments with Eliza that did compare.

Jen’s gaze drifted upward to the dusty windows of the barn. The late afternoon light streamed through the gaps between the wooden beams, casting golden light and soft shadows across the hay-strewn floor. The world outside moved on, but here, time stood still.

The sound of Eliza’s deep breathing filled Jen’s ears, blending with the distant hum of cicadas and the gentle creaking of the barn. Occasionally, a bird flew close by, its calls echoing through the ranch. One bird decided to settle on the barn's roof, its song a lullaby of summer’s warmth.

Eliza moved her head in her sleep, her hair brushing and tickling Jen’s nose. She smelled like hay and sunshine and a hint of sweat from their day’s work and more intimate activities. Jen traced her fingers slowly through her hair; the dark blonde strands felt soft between her fingers.

They had been together for over half a year now, but the moment still felt almost surreal to Jen. After years of loneliness, longing, and one disappointment after another, she had been convinced everyone would leave her in the end. But Eliza had come back to Pine Hollow, and Eliza had stayed.

Just like she had promised.

It was like a dream Jen never dared to believe would come true.

She couldn’t leave her parents—she didn’t want to. The ranch was her home, and she loved everything about it: the horses, the mountains, the quiet rhythm of the land. The mere thought of trading all this for a city of concrete, plastic and glass, where nature was something to be pushed aside, made her shudder.

But staying meant sacrifice. She had seen it happen again and again, watching her peers leave one by one, chasing big dreams of money, success and everything in between. After her last girlfriend had left for the city without looking back, Jen had resigned herself to a life spent alone.

Then, out of nowhere, Eliza had returned. A childhood friend, a familiar face, a spark rekindled. It had all felt surreal, like something out of a romance movie. But it was real, and the proof lay in her arms.

There had been a hollowness in Jen’s chest where loneliness and yearning had settled. But now, that space was filled with something else—contentment. A deep sense of relief in being truly seen, appreciated for who she was, and still chosen.

It wasn’t only contentment that filled her; there was love too, and for the first time, she wasn’t afraid to feel it, and she was not afraid to hold on to it.

Jen loved Eliza.

And Eliza loved Jen.

The thought made Jen’s heart beat a bit faster. She shifted unconsciously. Jen felt Eliza stir slightly against her chest before a soft sigh escaped her lips. “Sleep good, Liz?”

“Mmm, I loved it,” Eliza murmured, nuzzling deeper into Jen’s warmth. “You make a very good pillow.”

Jen chuckled, the movement shaking Eliza slightly. “Oh, I got plenty of talents.”

Eliza’s eyes darkened at the implication, her voice lowering. “Mmm, that you do,” Eliza murmured and reached to plant a kiss on Jen’s lips.

Jen hummed against her lips and cupped her cheek. Her green eyes regarded Eliza’s light blue ones for a moment as she searched for the right words.

Eliza’s fingers curled around Jen’s and squeezed it slightly as she waited for Jen to gather her thoughts and share them with her.

Jen took Eliza’s hand and laid it over her heart. “When I said you make me feel good, I didn’t just mean, y’know, that kind of way. I meant this, too. You make me feel like I matter. Like I ain’t just here, but seen. Wanted. Loved.”

Eliza's eyes softened, a slow smile tugging at her lips. She pressed her hand a little firmer against Jen’s chest. “I haven’t just found a home in Pine Hollow. I have found a home in you. I have found belonging with you, Jen.”

Her words felt almost overwhelming to Jen—overwhelming in the best possible sense, the way your heart is so filled with love you’re not sure what to do with it all. So Jen acted instead, capturing Eliza’s lips in another kiss. She moved her lips slowly over Eliza’s, savoring each moment—there was no hurry.

They had harvested the hay earlier that day and stored it in the barn. It felt soft under Jen’s back, and the smell was so fresh it was almost invigorating. But Eliza’s body draped over her own was even softer as it pressed against her. Jen couldn’t help but explore the familiar contours of Eliza’s body with her fingertips, savoring each sigh and little moan she could coax out of her lips.

Jen paused, gazing into Eliza’s eyes. The barn around them faded into soft shadows, leaving just the two of them, wrapped in warmth. Only a gentle breeze found its way into the barn, its cool touch caressing their heated skin as their warm bodies pressed against each other.

There was no hurry to deepen their kisses. Jen lazily brushed her lips over Eliza’s again, who, in turn, seemed to be content with this unhurried pace as well.

Eliza had shown her that love didn’t have to be complicated or mysterious. It could simply exist between two people, filling the spaces between them. Sometimes happiness was as simple as lying in a sun-drenched barn, kissing the day away, and knowing neither of them was going anywhere.

The world outside was bright and loud, but here, with the scent of summer and the warmth of Eliza’s skin, Jen had everything she needed.

There was no second-guessing, no worrying about the future. It was the kind of happiness that lingered, as golden and timeless as the sunlight filtering through the rafters.

This was happiness without hesitation, a silent promise of more summers like this. More love. More kisses in barns, under the stars, in this quiet place that was theirs.

There was just this moment, the softness of Eliza’s skin against hers, and the slow, lazy kiss that whispered, We have all the time in the world.
