The next big bad is Nüwa’s brother - LMK theory
This theory started in my head, because I was confused for why Nüwa’s motives are quite different from the show vs her original mythology.
You see, while she symbolizes quite a few things, one of them is actually the opposite of destiny and order: the abstract mindset. While the “order” mindset belongs to her counterpart and brother, Fuxi, who was the one to symbolize “order” with the “straightforward mindset.”
And this seems quite strange, doesn’t it?
I mean, yea, of course some things need to be changed when you are making a show like this, but such a core values is a little strange.
So, I decided to look a little more into it, more specifically into her counterpart, Fuxi and their backstory…
The story goes that Pangu, the creation goddess, split chaos to become heaven and earth (one way being with a giant axe and in another he was also aided by the Four Guardians).
After this he often dies, but in his death creates everything in the world including a woman named Huaxu: Nüwa’s and Fuxi’s mother.
And after I had read this, something clicked into my mind as to why they are showing Nüwa like this in the show. Not only that, but also who the “he that is about to win” is, and why we were warned about him: it’s Fuxi.
(or at least a character who is inspired by him, since characters in LMK are often based of multiple deities and legends, just take Xiangliu)
Xiangliu: I am the 10th King, Prince Consort of Jisai, The Nine Headed Demon, Xiangliu, The Emissary, the list goes on…
And we know Pangu did exist in this universe, since that is his axe right there, hence Nüwa and Fuxi must have originated from him in some sense.
But then, where is Fuxi now?
Well the timeline from here gets pretty blurry, but one thing we know for sure is that someone tried to “break the pillar.”
MK: And someone’s trying to break it!
Wukong: Not for the first time…
And from what is set up, the “he” is the person who broke the pillarthe first time, and did it very deliberately.
Why? To let in the Chaos.
Telling us, that whoever broke the pillar is an opposing or counterpart to Nüwa (Nüwa being very much against chaos in every shape or form, while the “he” is all for chaos).
And who is Nüwa’s counterpart? Fuxi.
Conclusion: Neither Fuxi (symbolising masculinity) or Nüwa (symbolisng femininity) are truly good, so be non-binary! It's so much easier! (this is a joke)
These two scenes are connected
Sandy’s JTTW flashback/ Wukong and Macaque’s fight are connected.
Think about it. If Wukong and Macaque really were fighting, wouldn’t that mean that the Pilgrims would be close by to help?
It would also make sense from a timeline standpoint, since we know that the Pilgrims disappeared between the Samadhi Fire incident and DBK’s entrapment.
(Wukong disappeared after the entrapment, the Pilgrims seeminlgy being "dead" by this point).
And since Wukong and Macaque’s fight have no clear placement on that timeline, it wouldn’t be too far of a fetch to say that it happened between thoughs two things.
If it also did happen at this time, it would mean that at this point Macaque would have gained the “chaos powers” from the deal, since his shadow powers seem to be connected to his chaos powers, and we know he had them at that time
And since we don’t know how chaos powers fully work yet, this scene with Pigsy/Zhu Baije, could have been the result of an attack from Macaque.
Which would also explain why we even saw this scene in the first place! I mean, why else would they show this otherwise very random flashback?
And not only would it explain that, and where the fight is on the timeline, it would also explain what happened to the Pilgrims.
That the Pilgrims got hurt badly in the fight with Macaque.
Making people think that they all died, but chaos powers work in weird ways (ways we don’t understand yet), so they are still alive, yet with no memories of their past, and are now known as Sandy, Pigsy and Tang.
GUESS WHO FINALLY COVERED THE FORGOTTEN MEMORY STUFF!!
Questions I theorise about here:
- How did Wukong and Macaque loose their memories?
- Why is so many people loosing their memories?
- How MK and Mei's friendship parralels Wukong and Macaque's, and where their friendship is going.
- What happend to the Pilgrims?
- Why did Sandy have Flashbacks to JTTW?
POV: You are a teenager/ young adult who is trapped in a cycle, that has happend hundreds if not thousands of times, where you have to fufill a "destiny", that has been given to you, by the closest you have to a biological parent, where you have to sacrifice both your body and mind to a "higher cause".
Plushie Pumpkin Macaque!
And yes, he is squishable.
I made him last year (just at the start of my hyperfixation) where @lu-zijing helped with the faces placement.
(It fits)
MK Cosplay for Halloween! :D
Wore it earlier but posted a little late, but I blame it on the fact I had a latin exam yesterday (ON HALLOWEEN).
I got the shirt and pants from a thrift store, and just drew on the shirt with some textil markers. I also wore a bandana, which was just some fabric from an old shirt that was too small anyway.
Currently working on a theory video about Wukong and Macaque's "forgotten memories"(and the other stuff it connects to), these are the chapters:
The ones I have crossed out are because they only make sense with the video.
Anyway I am currently editing the script through :)
So… how does this chaos work? Well, let’s get into that
First of all, we know that this chaos, even though vastly different from destiny/ order is closely related to it through the cycle.
After all, the first time MK walked into the pillar he came to Nüwa’s in-between “order” world, but then the second time he arrived at the Edge of Chaos. You can call the pillar a sort of “portal to different worlds.”
The reason this was the difference from the first to second time MK walked into the pillar, is probably because of the state of the world.
The first time he went in, he was still following “destiny”, but the second time he had at that point denied it. We could basically say that chaos is starting to get closer to our world now. (Oh no)
Second of all "the Edge of Chaos”, as I just realized, is not a giant sea of chaos, but just above the Primordial Chaos. As we see, there are clouds, and we are above the clouds when seeing this for the first time.
This is actually really clever, since it tells us about the Primordial Chaos but still keeps it a secret. Who knows, maybe the “he that is about to win”, is also hanging out down there with some cool new antagonists.
Anyway, that was just some things I had noticed/ is theorizing about, have a good day!
We only draw what is important on the class whiteboard
What would happen if Nüwa met Pigsy? - Dadsy Theory
Answer: He would kill her for making her sons destiny
In season 5 we had a bigger focus on Pigsy and MK’s relationship, or more specifically how Pigsy feels like everything in the universe is trying to destroy MK.
Pigsy: ” Its like Destiny chose MK to toy with”
But this had me asking… what would happen if he actually met the person who created his son’s destiny, aka Nüwa?
And not only is this a really interesting scenario to think about, but there is also evidence that it could happen!
First evidence: Episode 5 was a setup episode
A lot of the things that were set up in previous seasons were showed in this season (Xiangliu, Wukongs circlet, MK’s destiny etc..) but there was also a lot of things that were set up in this season (Macaque's deal, who the "he" that is winning is, Mei and MK's friendship ect).
One of these things were actually Pigsy’s feelings about MK’s “destiny”. And while yes, the feelings were “covered”, they weren’t resolved. Meaning there is a good chance there are setting something up here.
Second evidence: Nüwa will travel to the earth
Last time we saw Nüwa she was in the in-between, between life and death, because she was watching over the Cycle.
But now there isn’t a cycle anymore (or atleast a planned destiny)… So… what can Nüwa do now?
Well, I don’t think she is just going to leave her “little people”, just chilling around with their newfound powers (especially since thoughs powers come from CHAOS, aka the thing she was trying to prevent for so long).
And in some versions of her old mythology she created the humans out of loneliness, and with the humans she created now being “in-danger of chaos”, it would give her the perfect opportunity to go down and see them!
Though I’m theorising she isn’t just going to be able to chill with her people, because there is certain noodle shop owner that would like a word with her.
Or:
Conclusion: Nüwa is in danger
Li Jing knew Xiangliu?!
I am not kidding, because when we finally see Xiangliu’s “true form”, Li Jing is… scared? He shouldn’t be scared!
After all he catches monsters/ demons on the regular with his Pagoda, and in JTTW he was even given the title of “Monster Quashing Marshall.” So, it’s not like he has never dealt with a scarier looking demon.
Just take a look at The 100 eyed demon, who not only looks terrifying but who can also legitimately look into your mind.
But when he sees Xiangliu he looks terrified, which doesn’t make sense… unless he knew who he is, or more specifically, WHAT he is.
Because Xiangliu’s “monster form”, has some very interesting connections back to the guardians!
The most eye-catching definitely being the armor, something that all the guardians, and Xiangliu have. Xiangliu’s just have silver armor, instead of gold.
Which does makes sense, when you consider that guardians represent “order and destiny”, and Xiangliu represents “chaos”. But I will definitely talk more about this another day.
And it’s noteworthy to add that Li Jing first reacted scared/ surprised, when he saw the demon form. He didn’t react at all before that.
This telling us that Xiangliu’s monster form is known and is feared in the Celestial Realm. Or at least by higher-ups like Li Jing, who seems to know more about people like MK than they are leading on:
(MK trying to control the Jade Emperors powers)
Nezha: What’s going on?!
Li Jing: The child (MK) must be contained!
He didn't say "the power must be contained", he said MK must be contained.
So he knew (or at least had an idea) of who or what MK is, when no one else knew.
Conclusion: Li Jing, give us some answers
Theory I just made up that might end up being canon or not if your interested
do you think Mk is an clone of a friend that monkey king had been friends with for a short length of time before that friend of his jumped into the pillar as a sacrifice but maybe monkey king was there for his friend once he found out that his friend is apart of a cycle to be sacrificed so it might explained why he hesitated with talking about it with Mk, even though macaque might actually know about his friend.
He might’ve bottled up so much emotions in front of macaque just to show that he might be lying to him about knowing the cycle maybe when he lost a friend that was supposed to comeback to monkey king once he came out of the stone.
Or that friend might be his brother instead since they came from the same stone and mk is monkey kings brothers son instead.
I have another theory about how monkey king isn’t Mks dad but his grandfather instead due to his son being Mks actually dad from the cycle instead of monkey king. Even though I do still think now it’s a bit far fetched for several reasons I just thought it would be interesting to talk about how the stones work cause I don’t or do know that mk and monkey king are ether related or it’s their strong connection to each other.
Ok so, I do agree that Monkey King might once have had a friend that sacrificed themselves to the cycle, but I actually believe that friend to be MK.
As, a little while ago I read a theory, where someone suggested this. But instead of it being in this cycle they were friends; it was in a previous cycle. This also being the reason why Wukong said he had “a felling”, that MK should be his successor.
And yes! The stones are incredibly interesting to talk about. Especially with how they are related to The Primodial Chaos.
Xiangliu: “MK and the stones are a remembrance from the chaos beyond”.
Sorry for asking so many questions and theory’s but I’m telling you this is the last one.
Do you see a peculiar difference between nuwa in the lmk 5th anniversary set and in the season 5 set of nuwa
Like how 5th anniversary set nuwa has green eye shadow while season 5 set nuwa doesn’t.
I know this theory seams far fetched like maybe she’s chose to have make up in her lady yu disguise to make her self look more less identical to actual nuwa.
But her is my theory and pretty much sound a bit crazy and more like a fanfic but what if the nuwa in the Lego set is the real nuwa and the one in the pillar is an illusion clone of her and maybe all those memories that mk remembers are fake and the actual ones are replaced with those for some reason. It definitely isn’t nine who replaced them maybe it’s Pangu.
Still this was an old theory that i turned into an au based upon my own theory of Mks parents being nuwa and monkey king(this is a fanon ship not canon)
I just would like to see what you think about this theory on “who is the real nuwa?” cause to me I think I’m barking up the wrong theory’s.
I think Nüwa created Monkey King? That’s mostly why I don’t ship it, but I could be wrong.
But this is an interesting theory for sure!
Let’s say this was the case! That the real Nüwa is actually living among the mortals! This would fit her overall motivations in both the show and real mythology, because she loves the humans she has created!
But… I don’t think so sadly.
While a cool theory (yes) the 5th anniversary Lego set, takes place in an alternate universe where everyone is happy, and no villains exist. Meaning that Nüwa, in this universe, didn’t create the cycle, but instead let humanity choose their own destiny.
