like many victims before him, he was just a reader. while he had an appreciation for all forms of literary art, it was the stories that stemmed from canon events, people, and universes that had his utmost interest. the concept of fanfiction was so cool, the way an imaginative mind can show their admiration for a masterpiece by adding complementary works.

(that’s how sunwoo planned to lay it out for eric after he got too curious over all the open tabs on the older’s laptop. turns out it only takes a spew of word vomit, a buy-one-take-one offer from the local pizzaria, and eleven story recos to recruit his roommate into the fold successfully. it hasn’t produced the same results with his other friends, but he’ll get there soon.)

𝐈𝐈. OBLIVIOUS

there’s no need to say it aloud, juyeon knows what you think of him. he’s a varsity jock, an adored figure among the student body, a sinking case that your professor dumped on you in the hopes you can perform a miracle. and whilst juyeon’s concerns are supposed to revolve around his lifting his grades in time for the upcoming championship, proving to you that he’s not a blockhead matters more than potentially being benched.

too bad he’s still stuck on question three.

“need some help, lee?” you ask, ever so astute in your surroundings.

his mind registers the question, his lips hold no answers.

it’s standard practice; checking in on him from time to time. and yet, all he can think about was how your voice chimes in his ears like the cute keychains adorning your bag. ten minutes of staring at his worksheet, callused fingers steadily roaming across the surface like an invisible highlighter, with no answer in sight can do that to the brain.

𝐈. IKEA FURNITURE

if you told third year college student chanhee that in five years, he’d be sitting on the floor of his apartment to do an assembly project, he’d believe you. interior design was his passion; a craft he’d come to simultaneously enjoy and make a living from. now if you disclosed the part where the furniture happens to be from ikea, that’d warrant you a blank stare. 

you know because it was the exact reaction painted on your lover’s face after you chose a coffee table from there. since this was your first place together—a starter home, he fondly named it—he’d given you a catalogue of pieces to browse through. mind you, there were a handful of reputable brands included in that selection, and that is what you settled on? 

alas, chanhee didn’t protest. he did promise to love all of you, quirks included.
