Recently I’ve been working on drawing as many different clone helmets as I can think of, and this is the result! I’ve actually drawn quite a few more clones than these, chances are if you don’t see your favourite copy paste man here I have already drawn him I just had to limit the number to 50 as these are going to be stickers available via gacha at a couple upcoming cons :)

Tumblr is going to break if I try to tag this with every character shown, so I’m just going to use the popular tags (Rex, Cody, etc) and hope it gets to the right people

The two-year anniversary of an event which shall not be named sounds like a good enough excuse to post this CX-2 Tech portrait that I drew back when season 3 was airing and all the CX theories were at their peak (I was so disappointed by the lack of a reveal that I never posted it back then 😔)

3am concept

Finished my Sailor Bad Batch piece! I'll be handing out the group picture as a mini print at Celebration Japan, so come find me!

At the end of the day, killing off a character for a gut punch only works if you actually follow through emotionally, and S3 of TBB just didn't do that. I get it if other people think it did, but I won't ever be able to agree with that. We see no one find out. There's no memorial for Tech on Pabu or anywhere else, there's barely any mention of his impact on people. Nearly every mention of him was about how his skills were absent. It was a bad narrative beat of which no real use was even made except to focus on how it made things harder for them to do.

S3 remains a true disappointment to me, and I'm unlikely to ever be especially interested in it and its one billion dropped plot threads or the way Phee was tossed aside in favor of Ventress and how Tech's death wasn't engaged with in any meaningful way.

Will they ever walk it back and return him? I guess we'll see. It's happened before. (Echo, Gregor, Ahsoka, etc.) I have vague hope.

The Domino Twins

So I haven't rewatched the Bad Batch season 1 finale in its entirety in months, but for some reason Crosshair's "You weren't loyal to me!" has been stuck in my head all day, and now I'm wondering if Hunter ever outright told Crosshair that the squad had been planning on coming back for him.

I mean, we as the audience know the squad never planned on leaving Crosshair behind on Kamino, and Hunter was literally on his way to find him when Crosshair confronted them in the hangar; but Crosshair didn't know that. From his perspective, his squad had been arguing with him again right before he was taken to undergo some sort of medical procedure, and then he's sent after his squad who are all escaping, and he finds them in the hangar prepping to leave - apparently without him. And of course when he and Hunter start arguing, the fact that Hunter had been coming to find him never gets brought up.

None of this is to say that I agree with Crosshair's subsequent actions in season 1. Even if the squad WAS planning on leaving him behind, Crosshair isn't justified in shooting at them and trying to kill them (multiple times over) - inhibitor chip or not.

Still, it does make me wonder to what extent the thought that he had been abandoned added fuel to the fire of his anger in season 1. And I'm inclined to believe it might have even made him think he was being generous by offering his disloyal brothers a chance to rejoin him by joining the Empire.

And it does make me wonder if, post-season 2, he ever opened up to Hunter enough that Hunter could explain the truth of the situation.

| Repairs |

Well, that’s finally finished, sorry it took so long. This takes place between season 1 and 2.

Echo and Tech are almost definitely holding hands in panel 4. Tech isn’t a big one for physical contact but Echo is, and I imagine it’s just a little bit of comfort while getting repairs done to the traumatic reality of his body.

Also, I was initially annoyed with the fact the designers put Echo in red and grey and Tech/Omega in blue and grey when I feel like echo deserves to be in blue again. But for this my benefit for this comic, I like to think of the red is symbolic of him associating his mechanical side with being the the Batch, and Tech and Omega being in blue is symbolic of him still having this connection to his clone side and the love and support of his siblings.

I don’t usually render comics, but I thought that if I was going to commit to three pages worth, I should go full out. Not a detailed rendering style, but more than my usually flat colours. It’s not perfect, but I think I’ve decided creating anything is better than giving up because it’s not perfect.
