📌 Welcome to the Dark Carnival comic Tumblr page! Read below for information on the comic ⬇️

What is Dark Carnival?

It’s an anthro animal horror webcomic following six highschool kids who find out a traveling circus with some dark rumors behind it has come to town. However, they come to realize a little too late that the rumors might be more truth than fact. All characters and storylines are created by @thrumples.

WARNING: This comic is not meant to be read by anyone younger than 15. Despite how tame it may seem at the beginning, it is a horror webcomic, and thus contains more mature themes such as blood, gore, swearing, death, slight body horror, mental trauma, and other general horror themes. All potentially upsetting content will be appropriately tagged, and if you reblog a page with any such content I ask that you have the courtesy to tag it as well. (If anything needs to be tagged that hasn’t already been, shoot me an ask or a DM and I’ll put the tag on for you.)

Pages are posted every Monday and Thursday at 10am EST. Any schedule changes will be made clear.

This blog posts the official pages of the comic, but unlike the Twitter or Instagram pages, I also sometimes post/reblog fanart, shitposts, schedule updates, and various other things here.

the vessels have a really warped sense of time due to being locked up in the train car basically the entire time they’re conscious with no clocks or windows— they essentially never know what the exact date is, unless they manage to catch a glimpse of a calendar or something through the demon’s eyes while possessed. because of this they usually don’t know when their birthday has passed and can only take vague guesses, usually based off of the season they’re currently in

#long way to say they don’t celebrate birthdays because they genuinely have trouble processing the passage of time#askbox

I understand this is highly unlikely because they probably all live in different states (except Cody and Arin presumably because they were kidnapped the same day) but they deserve to be happy!

she doesn’t know he’s dead yet— all the kids are technically still declared missing, finn only realized sydney was the sole survivor during chapter 6. rosa does feel sad about her son vanishing, but more in the way you’d feel sad if you heard a somewhat distant relative of yours had passed away.

I was reading the Toyhouse profiles of the characters and found out that Brennan and Casey have same sex parents which is AWESOME but then a question popped into my head.

Brennan is very anxious, which is totally normal, but can also stem from a traumatic childhood. So I was wondering if he was adopted after being in a bad situation? Or something like that?

Since Casey has an older sister I’m less inclined to think she was adopted but it’s totally possible. I love her and Delilah so much and their designs are so pretty and I love that her entire family is lesbian.

Basically this is just me asking Casey and Brennan’s origins. Were they born through surrogacy? Or adopted? IS THERE ANY TRAUMA?

thank you i’m glad you like the comic! neither brennan nor casey are adopted, they both live with at least one biological parent. brennan’s mom passed away from illness when he was only a few months old and his dad remarried when brennan was around 8– brennan is just a naturally quiet & mild-mannered guy and if he’d made it to adulthood he would’ve gotten a much better grasp on his anxiety. casey’s moms just had a surrogate dad for their daughters, her & delilah are biological sisters.
