hating on trans men is not the progressive move you think it is
Anti-vaxxer extremist RFK Jr, the US Health Secretary, is now actively trying to collect medical records of folks on the autism spectrum. First, he used dehumanizing and infantilizating language to insist people with autism won't 'pay taxes and live a 'normal life' which we all know is ableist bullshit and is literally a precursor to genocide. This man is a monster.
He plans to take data from smartwatches, insurance, Veterans centers, and any other providers without patient consent. This is absolutely horrifying please spread the news
By the way, if you post about being a trans ally, but only ever talk about trans femmes and trans women, we notice. If you never include trans men in your activism, we notice. If you imply trans men don't "need" your help and activism like trans women, we notice. You either care about all trans people, or you don't actually care about trans people.

I spend more time on Reddit than Tumblr, and I feel like while the topic of transandrophobia is discussed less on Reddit, it definitely also faces a lot less backlash.
Over the past few days, I’ve seen multiple posts in the transmasc sub talking about transandrophobia both within and outside of the queer community (though they didn’t use that term). I‘m glad to see that it‘s even being discussed, but at the same time, I get really sad reading the comments and seeing all the horrible experiences transmascs have to deal with.
The most upvoted comment was from someone who said trans men were specifically asked not to speak at their local trans rights protest. When this person spoke out about this, they were told that trans men need to learn when to “shut the fuck up.” They were trying to speak as a representative of a local disability group, so they ended up without any representation, which makes it even more frustrating.
Idek, I‘m just tired.
im srry but transmalehood actually does not come with Gender Baggage. theres no unique responsibility placed on me to Be the Right Type of man any more than just…anyone on planet earth has the responsibility to be a decent person? I don’t need your permission to be a man or your concession that its ok for me to be one as long as I’m “careful” about it. It’s dehumanizing and transphobic and your baggage with malehood is not my problem.
Friendly reminder that it’s never inappropriate for oppressed people to talk about their oppression in spaces that are meant to support them and give words to their oppression that they feel comfortable using, and people on the outside don’t get to decide that the words the oppressed people are using are somehow offensive to them because they want to silence another group instead of letting them talk.
To get more specific, I’m really disappointed in people looking at trans men talking about transmisandry and going “but if you use that word for yourself, then it sounds like it’s giving legitimacy to cis men who just wanna whine about misandry”
And I am so goddamn tired of the semantics games. Why do you have to make it difficult for us to talk about our oppression on purpose? Just because you think it sounds icky? Fuck off.
And then we switch to transandrophobia “but that sounds like people oppress you because you’re men and nobody is oppressed because they’re mennnnnnn! UGH I HATE MEN SHUT UP AND LET OTHERS TALK.”
Like, first of all, I don’t fucking believe you. Maybe not cis straight rich men, yeah no shit they don’t experience much oppression. But the universe is not so perfect that your bias is the exception to the rule that nothing is ever evenly divided in one way or the other. Oppressed people might experience one flavor of oppression or another based on their gender, but this phenomenon would and does swing both ways. it’s just that people are using an “X versus normal” way to phrase things instead of “X versus Y” and I’ve always disagreed with “X versus normal” ways of phrasing things because they’re inherently stupid and inaccurate. “Normal”isn’t even fully real as a thing that exists.
And in trans men specifically, yeah that is actually the sticking point for once. We are oppressed because we are trans, and we are trans because we are MEN. The two concepts cannot be divorced from one another. We are a marginalized group of men. We should be allowed to talk about how our struggles work in relation to being men without using language that feels like we are misgendering ourselves, you assholes.
Your hatred of men is neither our fault nor our problem. We don’t need to shut up for you! If anything, your pushback tells me we need to be LOUDER.
Maybe if people stopped being worried about phrasing things all nice and neat exactly the way they like, and started worrying more about the actual things people are going through and the stuff they’re talking about, we might get somewhere. Maybe you guys should read instead of having a knee-jerk hate reaction to word structure.

I fucking hate when terfs try to pretend they care about transgender men's rights.
"Trans 'men' should join us! We will FIGHT for your sex based right to be constantly misgendered when receiving reproductive healthcare! We will FIGHT so that you no longer have the right to medically transition! We will FIGHT for your right to have no legal representation! We will FIGHT you if we see you in the bathroom but it's FINE because when we see your vulva we will say SORRY! You are our SISTERS✊✊✊"
Ma'am you called a 15 year old transgender girl a "porn addicted freak who deserves to be castrated" because she wore cat ears. Don't touch me you misogynistic freak.
it feels like when people picture a trans man who's transitioned they see a ""cis-passing"" stone masc man, and when they picture a trans man who Hasn't transitioned they picture a ""stealth"" feminine presenting person who has he/him in bio
it's like it never occurs to people that trans men can be Visibly trans, that some trans men are visibly trans for the entirety of their life through all of its stages.
it never occurs to people that being visibly trans can be Desirable, that it's what a lot of people want even despite the personal risk.
It’s just so weird that I can say “I was treated badly by my mother in a way that only happened because I came out as a trans man and would not have happened had I been a cis woman or a trans woman because my masculinity and status as a “gender traitor” was the problem” and a portion of this website will look at my experiences and go “you were just experiencing general transphobia and/or misogyny :)” and not take a single second to listen to what I actually said. Like I am not going to sit here and have this godforsaken website gaslight me about my own experiences when I’m about to kill myself over the way my mother treats my trans masculinity.
Being a trans man was the reason for my fucking abuse. You do not get to tell me that what I experienced was not fucking targeted.
all goofing aside I genuinely don't understand the urge to reimagine Taylor Allison Swift as a secretly queer icon when the pop music scene(TM) is like. literally overflowing with women who actually like women. Gaga and Kesha and Miley and Halsey are right there. Rina Sawayama and Hayley Kiyoko and Rebecca Black and Kehlani and Victoria Monét and Miya Folick if you're willing to get slightly less top 100. Janelle and Demi for them nonbinary takes on liking girls. like what are we doing here. like I'm not even saying you can't enjoy Taylor but why would you hang all your little gay hopes on her.
Isn’t Lady Gaga bisexual?
yes that is indeed why she's on the list of famous women who like women
why have multiple people reblogged this with some horse-assed "um actually most of these people are bi or pan" did I fucking stutter I said they like girls. what is your point. I'm going to kill you.
the icon is because of this post
POV: you make a good post and then encounter tumblr reading comprehension
btw to just clarify for anyone who sees this reblog of this post
op is basically saying something along the lines of "yea ik taylor swift is bi but like. why is she y'all's only lgbtq+ pop icon when there are all these other lgbtq+ people in the pop scene???"
i might have worded this badly but hopefully i got the main point across
hi op here I certainly did not fucking say Taylor Swift is bi
Op is saying that liking Taylor for being QUEER or Lgbtqia+ is not a bad thing, but to also know she is not the only one.
He did not call anyone in the original post lesbian bi or pan.
He did call two people NB
you have to be fucking with me there's no way
OP is saying STOP GIVING A STRAIGHT, MASS POLLUTING, CAPITALIST the reverence of a queer icon WHEN WE HAVE ACTUAL QUEER ICONS. Gods you switfies are a cultish mess, get your fucking shit together.
Just a reminder that it is not your vet’s job to report if your pet got into recreational drugs. We aren’t snitches, we have no obligation to report drug use. We do, however, want to save your pet so please be honest with us about what your pet got into. It could literally be life and death for them.
i initially read this as a cat picking up a cocaine habit on the street and not being a narc about it before i realised you meant pets accidentally ingesting their owners drugs
My first thought was “why wouldn’t you tell your vet if your cat has catnip?”
This also means they can spy on straight people just to make sure they aren't lgbt. This is not just against gay people, it's a cover up for violating human rights. It's never just against one group of people, it's always about controlling the masses while blaming a group of people so nobody looks at the root of the problem.
