FBC Zine

@fbczine / fbczine.tumblr.com

A free, annual community based digital zine focused on the Remedy Entertainment video game franchises of Alan Wake and Control.

The Admin Team here at the FBC Zine has decided that horror is too scary. We’re worried our readers will never be able to sleep with the lights off ever again if we continue down our current path. So we decided to scratch that idea altogether.

Enter: Pinups and Paninis

The FBC Zine will now exclusively feature everyone's favorite eldritch monstrosity, the Former, and its favorite lunchtime treat of paninis. The season of love may have passed in our world, but time is just a construct within the Oldest House! Love transcends all!

Our contributors will now create pieces featuring the beautiful, hot, and messy relationship between the Former and Panini. Don’t worry, tasteful napkins will be included!

We hope you’re ready to grill and chill!

– The Admin Team

What could cause my application to be declined?

In general, applications which submit pitches that either do not follow the current zine’s theme, do not abide by the zine’s content rating or guidelines, or are too low effort or vague may be declined. We have made a more detailed pitch guideline document, which we highly encourage you to look over before applying.

The FBC Zine is not submission based, and applications which attempt to submit previously published finished pieces or works already in progress will be automatically denied.

Applicants should also keep in mind that while the zine does not have a set number of contributors, we will be trying to diversify the zine’s content to showcase as many unique themes and characters as possible.

For more information on the project, please follow us on our socials!

What types of content is the zine looking for?

The FBC Zine will showcase fanworks which fit this year’s theme of horror. We'll have Contributor Applications for artists/writers and a 3rd new Contributor category for fanworks which don't fall under art/writing. We've titled this category “Multimedia Contributions.”

If you apply as an Artist and Writer, you will only be accepted for 1 of the 2. Spot illustrators can also apply for other positions & can be accepted as both. You can apply for any of the above roles and apply as a Multimedia Contributor. At max, you can only have 2 zine roles.

Art: This includes digital and traditional art. This includes but is not limited to page art, short comics, movie posters, etc.

Writing: This can include but is not limited to fanfiction, poetry, meta essays, scripts, Remedy Games style in-universe documentation, etc.

Multimedia Contributions: This can include but is not limited to traditional photography, LARP style cosplay, fan videos (machinima, original music), themed recipes, etc. We’re looking for creative contributions!

For more information on the project, please follow us on our socials!

Contributor Applications for FBC Zine: Volume 3 will be opening in ONE week! Our Contributor Application forms require examples of your work, so be sure to organize your portfolio! If you haven’t already started thinking of your two pitches (and a third optional one) now’s the time!

It’s important to read the FBC Zine’s carrd to understand the guidelines when submitting an application. All pitches must stay on theme for this year’s volume: horror and all its subgenres!
