My Writing (tag games, asks, snippets)

Poorly articulated thoughts about 'badly' written fanfic coming up...

So lately I've been kind of obsessed with finding fics that I used to love when I was 10 years+ younger and rereading them with my adult eyes. In retrospect I can see that a lot of these stories must have been written by young people with very little knowledge of how the world (and the people in it) function, the same as I was when I first read them. Usually that's the kind of thing that would make me click off a fic, however I've sort of come to see these things in a different light over the course of my adventures.

There's something really absurd/surreal in taking the worlds of these stories (where people talk like robots and one puff on a cigarette makes you die) at face value and actually engaging with them as they're laid, accepting their premises as true and their characters as people, weird as they may be.

tagged by @kanekikendoll and @swifty-fox. Thanking you kindly for thinking of little old me

1) one thing you could eat without ever getting bored

Tinned tomatoes. Warmed up with some salt and tabasco. Cold out of the can when camping. Part of so many meals. A pillar of my life.

2) a song that reminds you of your childhood

Bat out of Hell by Meatloaf - a dad's car special. (This is also a cheat but the other picks would be The Angry Mob by the Kaiser Chiefs and Fuck You by Lily Allen)

3) first thing you do when you wake up

Come down / debrief from whatever dream I had that night (I have very vivid, memorable dreams and it seems to be getting worse the older I get. It's kinda interesting but fuck me, sometimes you just wanna sleep)

4) personality trait you hate

For me? My intense disorganisation, makes things v long

For others? People who are stupid but think they're smart

5) Fave TV show / movie

You know its The Lost Boys (1997) and Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995)

But there are many more runners up for films, I'm much less of a TV person

6) a colour to describe your current mood

I've been spending a lot of time in town so I'm gonna say concrete grey, not because I'm depressed at all but because I've been doing a lot of looking at it and thinking about stuff (too much). Runner up is kind of dark blue-teal sort of colour cus I dyed my roots yesterday

7) the brand of your favourite pair of shoes

crocs, duh
