“would you still love me if i was godzilla?” you ask. you’ve got your head resting on matt’s shoulder, your cheek digging into his bone to see him clearly as you talk.
that’s a new one, matt thinks. “maybe?” he gulps. the wrong answer could either lead to tears or cuddles, and while he was always in the mood to cuddle with his girl, he doesn’t want you to be sad.
“i think i’d love you more if you were godzilla.” to confirm your statement, even though your tone was oddly full of love, you interlock your fingers with his. you shiver at the cold contact of his rings and cuddle closer to his body.
“yeah? you got some weird fetish for godzilla?” matt snickers. if he’s hurt, he definitely doesn’t show it.
“nuh-uh.”
“no? then tell me, sweetheart.” matt looks down at you and follows your shy gaze down to his socked feet. he nudges you softly to continue.
you sigh, “well, you have me, chris, and nick, and i have you, chris, and nick, and godzilla doesn’t have anybody at all. so if you were godzilla, i’d love you just a little more so you wouldn’t be as lonely.”
you sound genuinely crushed. matt’s heart is genuinely crushed. if only he was godzilla. he thinks about his next answer with a thoughtful hum.
“you’d still love me with those big teeth?” matt asks, smiling when you smack his chest.
“yeah,” you sigh contently, “would you?”
“of course i would,” matt thinks the conversation is over, but he knows you like the back of his hand. “what?”
you hold his hand a little tighter as you frown, “he’s just so lonely.”
matt’s hearts swoons. he thinks there can’t be anyone as sweet as you. “he’s probably got friends back home, like how we do with nate, or he probably has a girlfriend that he hides, so he can just think of that when he gets lonely.”
your frown lifts into a soft smile, “yeah. like when i miss you when you’re making car videos.”
“you miss me when i’m making car videos?” matt asks, swiping his thumb across your knuckles.
“maybe.” was all you say. you kiss his bicep even though he could barely feel it with the material of his shirt covering it and engross yourself back onto the tv in front of you. matt stares at the conjoined hands on his lap before resting his head on top of yours and sighing contently.
his eyes fly to your head, “wait, do you miss me when i’m making car videos or not?”
“watch the movie, matt.”

I just want to lay in bed with Mathew Bernard Sturniolo and cuddle and put my hand on his chest and look down at him and push his hair back and give his face kisses all over and giggle with him and then lay with him and listen to his heart beat with my arm over him and his arms arms around me as we watch movies, is that too much to ask? IS IT??
