I was flipping through my screenshots folder looking for inspiration and found this old one of the classic "It was fine" day after conversation...and I mean, yes, ha-ha, funny, Gale threatens to blow everyone up at the mildest offense...
...but I also find it kind of telling.
"I'm just a man."
An absolutely raw and honest admission of humanity, delivered in a moment of utter vulnerability. It's wounded and self-deprecating...
...but also sort of an excuse for his perceived shortcomings? Like he's saying if he sucked in bed, it's because he's just a man -- denied the glory his life prior to the orb promised him, and so it should be no surprise that he would fail to live up to your expectations also.
Then of course his awkward backpedal if you tell him you're joking (as you fucking should, you heartless beast) -- it's cute, it's funny, it's endearing, but more than that, perhaps allows him the grace to see that he IS in fact worthy and capable of pleasing you...
...even if he is just a man.

I’ve been in a bad mood since the beginning of the year... and unlike last year, it's harder and harder to find relief in BG3.
Especially since I feel almost guilty thinking of Gale to escape from reality in these weeks.
That said, however, I really want to (and I need to) slip back into old habits...
So, I'd like to ask for some new fanfic to recommend me! 💕
Smut is okay, angst is better (for my current mood 😆). But also fluff ones... those would be great.

Passed University: not university, but she had finished the novice at her grove. Not really a tattoo, but she has also some glowing dryad-like marks on her body. Gotten Piercings: Pierced ears, but she don't wear earrings usually. A Cuddler: With Gale she is a hopeless cuddler (not in public, though). With her friends, she rarely gives hug, but she adores to receive them. Scared Easily: No, she is usually the one that drives spiders out of the room. But her greatest fear is not being enough for her friends and letting everybody down. Jealous Easily: Not so easily, but it's not a feeling that she is familiar with. Trustworthy: Definitely. She is a natural born leader, even if she usually doesn't want to be and sometimes she is overwhelmed by that.
Family
Sibling(s): Not by blood, but she considers all the druids in her Grove as sisters. Parents: Her parents were archeologists and researchers. They were working in a foreign land, hosted by the Grove, when they died by an evil Cult's hand. From then on Shoko was raised by the druids. Children: Not yet (?) Pets: Does the Owlbear Cub count? 😆 During her travels she was not able to keep any pets, but after settling in Waterdeep, she built a shelter for stray animals in the woods nearby. (Editor's Note: actually, my DnD OC has befriended a Loftus, a cute tiny celestial plant)
