I really love art, but I’m very inconsistent in my style, as I’m constantly changing things up, using new references, techniques, and I am dyspraxic, so bare with me if things change.

William Finn passed away while I was sleeping, I found out from my discord chat.

Im so upset, I haven’t even processed it, I don’t think I will ever miss someone as much as I do now and I Never even met him.

He was such a great man, and so smart, he was one of the best musical composers ever

His name will be solidified in history forever, and we can’t let this legacy of his die.

This is a rant about some of my pet peeves I wanted to share!

First of all, I don’t see this as commonly anymore, but I hate when people whitewash Micheal, and it bugs me more when people say ‘oh that’s just book Micheal!’ But the personality is off.

Book Micheal ≠ Musical Micheal.

Musical Micheal feels betrayed, he’s a canonically Filipino, and (implied)-gay character, he cares for Jeremy deeply, but Never goes out of his way to swear him out, or blame him in a confronting way.

Book Micheal on the other hand, is a canonically straight white dude with an Afro and an Asian fetish. When Jeremy ditches him, he confronts and blames him, with hatred.

They are not the same.

As result, you cannot draw white Micheal, with his Jacket, and kind personality, and claim that youre just drawing the book version.

Second of all, is how people Draw Rich Post-fire.

(this one is more my personal opinion and pet peeve, if you don’t agree with it that’s fine, and I’m not telling you to stop drawing him however you want. Especially if you are easily triggered by scarring)

Nobody draws him with really really bad burns or scars, it was a bad fire. It burned down MOST of the house, and it was a suicide attempt. If he was actively trying to kill himself, then he wouldn’t try to stay away from the fire, so he wouldn’t have minimal burns, he’d probably be really scarred physically.

His Scars kept him in full body bandages, he is most likely disabled, he wouldn’t have the occasional small mark here or there, they’d be more visible.

I feel ashamed any time I try draw him with scarring, because everybody else keeps it to the minimum.

But then I remember he’s disability, suicide attempt, and burn victim representation in a world with so little of that rep, and I draw him with scars twice as prominent.

If drawing scars makes you uncomfortable, that’s fine.

If you don’t know how to draw burns, that’s fine.

This is more encouragement to allow you to draw characters like him with scars, then it is me judging people, or art without him scarred

Un-Acceptance - Poem.

this is my first time writing a poem that isn’t for school. Please me mindful, this is about my experiences.

I support all people of any sexual orientation and gender Identity, This is just a late-night poem I wrote because I cannot keep it in much longer.
