i had to stop reading this at the climax and go back to work and was livid. but oh my godddd. the use of repeating lines had me by the throat.
when ji talks about the promise he made to nana, i was actually tearing up. "i'm sorry it took me so long" A FUCKING GUT PUNCH and i loved every second of it. a starboy and his flower girl, i am so. fucking. soft.
i’m so happy that the repeated lines portrayed the emotion the way i wanted it to!!
while it was used for emphasis i also wanted to make reader’s life on the island and her consistent day to day a little bit more tangible, hence why in some spots the line can be predicted. it’s the exact thing she wanted to get away from— the repetition of it all. jisung just so happens to be the star that guides her out ⭐️
