I.L.L. DATABASE

@illaboratories

Offical Impostor index for I.L. Laboratories. Authorized eyes only.

Welcome to the I.L.L. DATABASE.

This system is dedicated to the cataloguing, labelling, and deciphering of hostile Impostor variations found on human facilities. All mutations descripted here are based on witness accounts, captured specimens, and post-mortem autopsies. Some entries may contain speculative detailing that have the possibility to be proved false upon further research. This database is for the eyes of ILL employees and space captains of adequate rank only. Leaking information from entries marked for non-public view is strictly prohibited. Any treacherous employees will be neutralized under law of secrecy. This is your last warning. Managed by IL Laboratories. Notice: entries published at older dates, such as the Speedster and Jaw entries, are composed of research performed by numerous scientist organizations. All such entries were featured with permission and function under shared custody between companies.

ON THE MATTER OF MORPHING TYPES. By Yekaterina Aviloinichna.

Translated into English by Brandon Smith.

Impostors have been observed to hold a level of rapid biological change previously thought to be impossible for any living organism to retain. Assorted tests and eyewitness accounts report an ability to change bodily structure to fool their targets and fell victims used by many different mutations. For the Impostor species, shapeshifting into disguise is a very achievable feature, and has been shown to be done with so much ease that it is instinctual. However, different specimens shift to varying degrees. Therefore, I have estimated, based on compiled footage and data, that there are three types of morphing that an Impostor mutation may possibly possess.
COALESCENT-MORPHING TYPE. This is the least common degree as of late, only restricted to the earlier mutations. A coalescent-morphing type will exhibit the capability to completely shapeshift the majority of its body. For example, a Speedster mutation can perfectly replicate an astronaut suit. Impostors of this type tend to be more vulnerable.
PARTIAL-MORPHING TYPE. A good case of this would be the Teething mutation. These Impostors may only shift specific areas of their bodies, like the hands or legs, and are mostly forced to wear actual astronaut suits to fit in. As a consequence of this, they are more armored, but their shifting limbs act as weak points in their infastructure.
ABSOLVED-MORPHING TYPE. Impostors with this morphing type cannot shift to fit in with humans, and are forced to wear astronaut suits. This type includes the Kraken mutation.
ENTRY 02. JAW MUTATION. As first reported by the crew of Ne Ponimayu. See Jaw records for complete series of accounts. Rarity: -Common.- Now rare due to speedy evolution. Morphing type: Coalescent. Notable feature: split jaws. Jaw mutations primarily attack through retractable mouths in the stomach area. The teeth jutting out of them are able to rearrange, appearing and appearing to fit different situations. Impostors of this type typiclaly have 1-3 mouths. Their teeth have not been observed to regenerate. Issued traps: tripwire traps. Specimens in captivity: Over 80 as of 1/1/XX. Evolutionary descendants: Clawed, Maw, Razor mutations.

Entry 01. SPEEDSTER MUTATION.

As first reported by the crew of Zeta-51. See Speedster records for complete series of accounts. Rarity: -Common.- Now rare due to speedy evolution. Morphing type: Coalescent. Notable feature: stilted feet. Speedsters balance on three raised claws, which are connected by a thin webbing. Their feet can shift inbetween formations due to this webbing and allow for either more precise movement or a faster speed. When aiming for the former, the claws with lower and form a foot akin to an Artiodactyla hoof. When aiming for the latter, the claws will spread out and form stilts. Hands: used for blugeoning. The bones that form the airlined arms of Speedster mutations are considerably heavier than the rest of those that form the body. Their skeletal structure is meant to gain weight while charging and effectively body slam a victim; afterwards, Speedsters will beat those targets to death with their upper limbs. Issued traps: tripwire traps, box fuses. Use any and all objects available to obstruct a charging Speedster's path. Specimens in captivity: Over 125 as of 1/1/XX. Evolutionary descendants: Limbed. Spiked. Hooved mutations.
