i CANNOT and WILL NOT pick an angle

@instantpansies / instantpansies.tumblr.com

dumping ground of a slightly messed-up creator | mostly traditional artist, multifandom, fanfic writer, scrunchy little chaos monger

my art blog: @artstantpansies

hey toast! where do you stand on the pro/antiship debate??? here's your answer!!

about me ig, might as well since nobody will be able to discern any pattern from my little sparkly collection of reblogs

-you can call me toast or perry or any other cool epic names u come up with -pronouns: i use any and all! cool w anything -autism + adhd babey -queer -hyperfixations: HAIR ....... augh.......... hair...,,,, (the musical i mean), falsettos, musicals in general, but mostly hair, sfth but it's quieting down (sorry im disappointed too), led zeppelin, do uou guys ever thijnk about hair,, this horrible fanfic -special interests: art, music, beatles, queen, david bowie, oz books and related media, phineas and ferb, animation and cartoons, fantasy, folklore/mythology, linguistics/phonetics -recently watched the brokeback mountain opera, brief commentary @ #toast watches brokeback mountain -for other commentary check out #toast watches and #toasty talks -can't promise you'll ever see any of that but oh well. im just here. inching slowly toward smooth little rocks i like and then shoving them under my coat and skittering off into my lair to organize them nicely

how my commentary/analysis tags work -i do commentary as i experience media, so it's typically on my blog in the form of very long reblog chains, created over the course of typically an hour or two depending on how distracted i am, how much i have to say, how often i pause the media to comment, etc. this will easily clog up your dash. -all liveblogging/commentary posts on audiovisual media will be tagged #toast watches. everything will also be tagged #toast watches [name of media]. -if you want to see NONE of my commentary, block #toast watches, #toast plays, #toast studies -if you want to see my commentary but not every instance of those long reblog chains, search my blog for #analysis, #toasty talks, and/or #[name of media]. each one of those tags also includes other posts tho so just be warned lmao -if you want to block for spam (only see first and last posts in threads), block #toastblock. -so basically, if you don't want to see my thoughts on various media, block specifically #toast watches, for everything, or #toastblock, for spam. if you want to avoid spoilers for particular media, block #toast watches [name of media] (eg "toast watches star trek tos"). if you want to see a full list of commentary (only the final versions of each reblog chain featuring my full commentary and overviews at the end), search my blog for #toasty talks, or #analysis. if you want to see all my thoughts on a particular media, just search #[name of media]. i may create a dedicated tag just for final versions of all commentary chains, will update as i decide that.

if anyone i know irl finds me somehow, i beg of you dont use my real name thanks

contacts below break

Hello everyone. Some people were looking for playlists of sfth's games so I thought I'd share mine

Also let me know if I've missed any videos off the lists because I'm sure they're not perfect

I finished a brand new-to-me technique: pad stitching! And it worked!! I hand-sewed the canvas to the fashion fabric while holding a curve in both, and the curve was permanently set into the fabrics.

The goal for this garment was to create a permanently flipped-up hem for a jacket. Pad stitching is usually used on lapels, to keep suit collars smoothly and permanently folded back. However, in jackets, the lapels usually still obey gravity and sit flat. I have never seen an example of pad stitching doing what I wanted it to do - defy gravity and make the fabric "float"!

Until I fully assemble the jacket, I still won't actually know if I succeeded in that or not. However, the strength of the flip in this little video is really encouraging and I'm optimistic it will work!

matt just fired half the remaining tumblr support staff lmao

from my sources adjacent to tumblr--from which i can spread rumors and insider information freely because i dont give a fuck about ever working in the tech sector--im hearing this round of firings was focused on purging the senior staff, and not just from support but from the entire remaining tumblr workforce. i'm hearing there are about 25 people left.

"red-pill" "snowflake" everything about v for vendetta...fascists really do love to steal and bastardize culture from the queer people they are trying to destroy

"snowflake" was popularized in Fight Club, a novel by a gay man. "red-pill" is from a movie created by two trans women and is a metaphor for estrogen and gender transitioning. those same women adapted V For Vendetta from the original comic (written by a polyamorous man who may or may not be queer but certainly has something going on); in both versions the titular protagonist "V" is implied to be transmasculine, and a survivor of torture and imprisonment for the crime of homosexuality.

because that's what they see in us, these bigots who are happy to consume and quote and corrupt queer-created media, as long as they can erase every beautiful root. they see criminals, commiting the crime of being queer. and they are doing their damnedest to bring back the laws that made it so.

Fucking wild to be teaching about Rosa Parks at the same time as a trans woman in Florida does an act of civil disobedience to use a women's restroom in the state capitol

As far as I know, she is the first woman arrested bc of this law. The law requires that the trans person be warned to leave the bathroom by a state official, and then if they stay they are guilty of trespassing after a warning.

So like, me, my gf, others just piss and nobody asks or tells, but this young woman sent a statement about the law to over 100 FL lawmakers so they would know she was coming, the cops were ready for her, she brought a reporter and went in anyway and spent the night in a men's jail. She is out on bail, and is hoping this will inspire change of the law. But if found guilty, and the law is upheld as constitutional, then she could spend up to 60 days in a mens county jail.

I think it's important to know that this woman is a devout Catholic and is performing this act of civil disobedience as a profound act of faith (which I deeply respect, as someone whose Judaism vibes on the same wavelength). She brought a rosary with her and was planning on praying the rosary in the restroom after washing her hands if she was able to do so.

I also think it's important to know that she said in her letter that she knows that if she's sent to a men's prison that it is very likely that she will be raped.

The thing about Rosa Parks is we know her name. We should also speak Marcy Rheintgen's name
