it's cold outside

hey guys - i hate having to do this, but my cat has been displaying symptoms of an infection tonight and I don't have the means or money necessary to get her to a vet. She's an elderly cat and I'm worried that if I don't get her help ASAP she might get very ill. I would greatly greatly appreciate any help I can get with this, for the vet bills and transport.

got in contact with a vet - they seemed certain it was cystitis, or something similar. she's passing very little urine, instead passing a thick mucus substance, and is constantly going in and out of the litter tray and meowing in pain. i have an appointment booked for early this morning, and although she's definitely in pain, she's still very friendly and perky which is a very good sign and i think she'll be fine tonight

my goal got over halfway funded in under two hours, which is absolutely insane. i genuinely didn't think i would get anything, so to get so supprted so quickly made me feel a bit emotional. i am SO incredibly grateful for everyone who has donated and shared this, and at this rate im confident that i will hit my goal and be able to afford everything i need to 🫂 you're helping me out SO much, super super super grateful for all of it xx

pissface has been to the vet!! she managed to get everything she needed, an injection, meds, a diet plan, and means to give in a urine sample. she is acting perfectly fine right now and should be recovering quickly. she didn't have any blockage in her bladder, so it is likely cystitis or another bladder inflammation issue. but she has everything she needs and should be fine xx

i am so so grateful for everyone who has managed to share, donate and support me during this. pissface is my literal life and joy, i've had her since i was a kid and she has been the one consistent thing that i've had through many rough periods of loss and change and hurt. i was panicking very much last night when i realised how stuck i was with getting her the help she needed, but the understanding and support i received from my community has been everything. it was so comforting to receive a level of help and support i didn't expect to receive going into this - thank you so much
